This is one of my family's all time favorite mushroom recipes, you can double the recipe, I have left the garlic as optional if you are a garlic lover I suggest to add in and you may adjust the amount to taste --- you will love this! :)
This is a simple side dish that my family has been preparing since I was a wee-one. Traditionally served with steak, but I find this a wonderful side with chicken and rice, as I do not eat red meat. If you are a mushroom-lover, you will love this dish!

If desired chopped fresh garlic may be sauteed with the onion. This is also great served in single-serving dishes like the restaurants do, this goes great with steak! Prep time includes slicing the mushroonms.
I have been an abismal failure at making stuffed mushrooms. Even following recipes to the tee! Well, I finally decided to branch out on my own and as the first bite generated a "Wow!" I figured I should share!
A nice low-sodium appetizer if you have a grill. Use more thyme if you like; I particularly like thyme but other herbs could be substituted. Serve the mushrooms by themselves or with some of the marinade as dipping sauce. Cooking time is marination time.
