The oats and nuts in this banana bread make it different and give it a great flavor and texture. It's one of my favorite quick breads, and I probably make it more frequently than any other! Don't forget to sprinkle the oats on top for a great crunch! This recipe came from Shanna at the IBS message boards at www.helpforibs.com, although I modified it slightly.

If you like pepppermint, this cake will knock your socks off. It's minty, fudgy, and full of delicious flavor. Amazingly, it's also low fat and completely IBS safe! This recipe is from the cookbook "Eating for IBS" by the wonderful Heather Van Vorous. You can also substitute almond extract for the peppermint for a different taste experience, or just leave out the second extract completely and double the vanilla! This is great with a chocolate or mocha glaze (see my mocha mint glaze!).

This is a delicious and easy coffee cake that my mom used to make frequently when I was younger! It's so simple to whip it up and toss it in the microwave! I've also made this using reduced fat Bisquick, applesauce in place of the oil, and Egg Beaters in the batter to make it a little healthier, and it still tasted fabulous.

This is a simple and fantastic recipe I got from sherr1 on the IBS message boards at www.helpforibs.com. If you're looking for something with a zing, this isn't it. It has a subtle but deliciously fruity flavor. The sauce is wonderful over white rice!

This is a favorite in my house. My mom has been making it for as long as I can remember, so I decided it was finally time to write it down. It's so sweet, and the margarine and brown sugar melt together to make a delicious sauce!

This is posted in response to a request. It's a simple scone recipe using Bisquick mix! I've also made these using reduced fat Bisquick, soy milk, and Egg Beaters and they still tasted terrific!

This is my adaptation of a recipe my great aunt has been making for years. I love the combination of herbs in this dressing. The original recipe called for tarragon wine vinegar, so if you happen to have that on hand feel free to use it in place of the white vinegar and omit the fresh tarragon. Not only does this dressing taste great on salads, but it's also a key ingredient in another of my aunt's delicious dishes, her Tuna Salad Bake (recipe #83226)!

This glaze goes great with chocolate cakes and other baked goods. It's fantastic on Peppermint Fudge Cake (recipe #83547)! This is posted in response to a request, and is another recipe from Eating for IBS by Heather Van Vorous.

Who needs drugs when you have these brownies?! They're so rich and chocolately I would NEVER have guessed they're low fat... but the ingredients don't lie! I've found my new favorite brownie recipe. Be careful, though... just like the drugs, they're habit-forming. I got this recipe from TessLouise on the IBS message boards at www.helpforIBS.com.

I've been searching for a vegetarian sloppy joe recipe I really like, and I finally found it. This one is total comfort food! They remind me a lot of my great aunt's sloppy joes. If you've never cooked with TVP before, give it a try! I started using it recently, and it tastes amazingly like meat! It really takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with. I got this recipe from Heather Van Vorous at www.helpforIBS.com.

These are so fudgy and chewy they almost melt in your mouth. I was looking for a low-fat chocolate cookie but never expected to find something this good. These make me feel like I'm in chocaholic's heaven! I found these online, but they're originally from a Karo pamphlet.

The crispy coating on this chicken makes it flavorful and tender! This was adapted from a Hungry Jack recipe. The original recipe called for dipping the chicken in 1/3 cup margarine instead of spraying it with cooking spray, so feel free to do that instead if you prefer!

This is a light and delicious loaf of bread made with instant mashed potato flakes. It was my first truly successful attempt at using my new bread machine, and I plan on making it again and again! If I didn't screw it up it must be foolproof! I found this online somewhere, but I'm ashamed to say I forgot where. This makes one 1 1/2 pound loaf.

This flavorful pasta dish pairs shrimp or chicken with noodles and a peanutty sauce. I don't know how authentic it is, but I do know it's creamy and delicious! And as an added bonus, it's low-fat. This recipe is from Looneyspoons by Janet and Greta Podleski.

This bread has a fantastic nutty flavor. Biting into a dried cherry is like a little taste of heaven. It reminds me of the specialty breads I buy from a local breadmaker, Montana Mills... but a lot cheaper! I found this online, where it was posted by Tony van Roon. He also recommends trying it with canned cranberries, although I haven't done that myself because I like it just the way it is.

This is another recipe from Eating for IBS by Heather Van Vorous. It's posted in response to a request for low-fat carrot cakes. I haven't tried it myself, but have heard rave reviews about it from others. The sweet orange icing looks like a great touch, although I'm sure it would be great without it or with your own choice of icings, too.

This is a creamy potato salad that gets its tangy flavor from curry, dill, and Dijon mustard. It's also healthier than most. 'Tis the season for barbecues, so I had to share! It came in an insert with my Quick Cooking magazine. If you use the soy yogurt it's dairy-free.

I drink this tea almost every day. The peppermint and fennel both calm the stomach and aid digestion, and the fennel is also great for reducing bloating and gas. Just be careful if you're prone to GERD (heartburn), since peppermint can trigger it in people who are susceptible. For a different flavor, you can replace about half the peppermint with spearmint! Spearmint also helps with digestion.

This grilled dish, made with sweet potatoes and zucchini, gets its wonderful flavor from balsamic vinegar. It's easy to cook because you just pop it all into a foil packet. The amounts of vegetables can easily be increased for more people, since it has plenty of juice. I also enjoy making this with regular potatoes! This was created for RSC #6.

This is almost too easy to be called a recipe, but I had to share it anyway. I came up with it one night when I wanted a nice meal but wasn't feeling too motivated. I love Crock-Pot cooking!
