These Chocolate bites are really tasty. During the summer we like to freeze them and eat them ice cold. They definite do not last long though. Note: time does not include the 20 minute chilling period.

    Recipe #294356

My mom used to make cinnamon rolls with pie crust scraps, which gave me the idea for making these danishes. It is a great way to use leftover dough and enjoy the taste of a cheese danish without having to make a whole batch. These danishes are a wonderful treat to have with your coffee in the morning! I make them with my gluten free pie crust recipe (Recipe #266631), so I do not know how they would taste on a regular wheat flour crust, but I'm sure they would still be tasty! I like to make half the batch with chocolate chips and the other half with raspberry jam (put this on top of the cream cheese mixture before baking). I had trouble naming this one, so I would love to hear ideas for a tasty and descriptive name!

"Tartufo" is Italian for truffle. The original "truffles" were created just after the French revolution by French chefs and were chocolate confections made to resemble like their prized fungi cousin in the Perigord region of France. These sweet confections were given at Christmas time as gifts. Sometime around the Victorian era is when the frozen truffle came about when the idea of molding ice creams into various shape like flowers, fruit, and other foods became popular. It has been only during recent times that ice cream "truffles" or "tartufos" have made a renaissance, of sorts. Typically, in Italy, a tartufo is a vanilla ice cream ball that has a cherry and some nuts in the center. The ball is then dipped in chocolate and can be covered with nuts or chocolate shavings. Creamy almond filling inside prepared mini-tart shells....YUM! Cooking time is actually refrigeration time.

I got this from a BHG.com "Cook to Cook" discussion group thread where people shared their "I can't believe something this good is so easy to make" recipes. It was submitted by mardee1 and deserves repeating on Recipezaar.

OMG.. These are like heaven in your mouth! Talk about great taste sensations... I made these for one of my cooking and recipe events that I hold monthly, and these were a HUGE hit... A must try for sure! You can use low fat cream cheese to make these lighter if you like. You can also dip the ends with any kind of finely chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, sprinkles, or dip the ends in chocolate or drizzle with chocolate. You might even try adding some cocoa powder to the cream cheese and make it a chocolate filling. The sky is the limit here, just use your imagination!

These savory little appetizers are geared to please the olive-lover in the crowd. Can be frozen before baking. If doing so, place directly into oven from freezer and extend the baking time by just a few minutes. Recipe from a clipping, author unsourced.

This is an easy, simple recipe that goes over well. You can make the filling ahead and scoop out the tomatoes well ahead of time but do not fill the tomatoes until just before serving. I like to add the lettuce to the filling just before filling the tomato however the original recipe said you can mix it in when you combine all the stuffing ingredients. Looks great on a buffet table

I was looking for make ahead appetizer for the holidays and found this one. It's hard enough during those times to get the "meal" on the table. I thought I'd make it a bit easier on the appetizers!

This is my own little creation. I had a recipe for Italian roll ups that I got from a once a month cookbook. I just changed it to taco style as my children love anything with a Mexican flavor. These freeze well. I use my own homemade whole wheat bread instead of the frozen bread dough.

This is a very interesting recipe and is great for parties and family gatherings.

If I get asked for this recipe one more time, I will scream - just kidding! This is a great do-ahead appetizer. A good recipe to have for your summer garden abundance (and parties!). Only 145 days til July!

Who said they didn't like sauerkraut? C'mere! I got something for ya'! (I'll make you a believer yet!) The dipping sauce I used in the pic is honey mustard, but you could use whatever you like.

A great make ahead appetizer, can also be an accompaniment to an entree, or serve them with a salad. This is the best recipe for stuffed small potatoes, try it and see..... This wonderful recipe was found on a beautiful website: www.finedinings.com
