Easy Low Calorie Low sugar version of a classic dessert. My friends love these. I am diabetic and while not totally sugarfree as there is some in the cake mix, these are low enough in sugar that my doctor says they are OK for me in moderation :)
A British tea time favorite. This is sweet and tart. Try it on scones, muffins, and tea breads or layer on Angel Food cake with Raspberries and recipe #54868! I've also microwaved this just watch and stir a lot. For orange or lime curd, substitute appropriate fruit rind and juice. Proceed as directed.
FYI- When filling a cake with this be sure to pipe a rim of frosting on the edge of the first layer, then fill inside with the chilled lemon curd, place top layer then frost.
This is my "summer Tiramisu" The original recipe uses one packet of sponge fingers, but I use more to get more coverage on this size of tin. I also added the lemon zest and find it is not too tart, you can leave it out of course if you are not sure about it. You don't have to make this in a spring form pan, if you like to scoop it out of a dish, use whatever suits you. I sometimes use trifle sponges or plain cake instead of the sponge fingers. Oh... the lemons are low fat and very healthy!
When my father remarried he would sometimes complain to me about finding my mother's lemon chicken recipe. The real secret here being that I had LOST my mother's recipe box...a crime punishable by walking the plank in my family. Of course I didn't remember eating it or how it tasted since I was 6 when they divorced and she couldn't remember the ingredients. He described to me a sweet glazy sauce that covered the chicken which she served over rice. With the help of my step-mother we "recreated" this dish using Lipton soup and sauce mixes in the lemon flavor. I was at peace until Lipton discontinued this flavor and was again harassed to FIND THAT RECIPE your mother made!
Finally I was reaching up in the counter for a martini glass at my aunts house when a small box came crashing down on my head... my family recipes along with the suprisingly easy "Infamous Lemon Chicken".I had no idea these were the few ingredients that had been haunting me. Dad this one's for you.
A delicious and seriously lemon flavoured sticky drizzle cake which echoes the children's rhyme...."Easy peasy lemon squeezie"........EASY TO MAKE! An all-in-one recipe to rustle up at the last minute and impress your friends! When it's raspberry season, I sprinkle fresh raspberries over the top; it can also be served warm with creme fraiche, cream or ice cream as a Pudding Cake.
This recipe combines two of my DH's favorite desserts -- sugar cookies and lemon bars. Using packaged cookie dough makes this come together really quickly. I adapted this from a recipe I got in an email, and love the result of the three different sources of tart-lemonness.
Recipe courtesy - Giada De Laurentiis - Everday Italian. This caught my eye mainly for the limoncello liqueur recipe. The cheesecake is a bonus round ;-) The limoncello takes at least 4 days to create so plan ahead!
A make easy white cake from a mix with pockets of lemon filling. Have not tried this yet, but I hope someone beats me to it because it sounds great! Cook time and servings are estimated; check box for actuals.
I made this for dessert on Easter and it was the perfect choice! A wonderful dessert for special occasions. I made a scratch angel food cake but I did not include that in the cooking time. The recipe comes from America's Best Recipes -- A 2003 Hometown Collection.
