    Recipe #465650

    Recipe #458229

This is what I do when the kids want macaroni and cheese AGAIN but I want something a little more mature. I hope you like it.

    Recipe #458247

My father always made the baked beans in our house. He never wrote the recipe down so this is how I've adapted it to make in a crockpot. We used to have them with Hot dogs and brown bread on Saturday nights in the winter, If there was any left overs we would have them for breakfast Sunday morning with our eggs. Sometimes I have skipped the soaking overnight and just boiled the beans a little longer to make sure they soften. I discovered by adding the baking soda and vinegar, it had helped lessen the need for "Beano"...

    Recipe #458240

This is one of my favorite casseroles made by my friend June. It's an adaptation of a recipe she got from a German friend. So, this is a German inspired - American adapted recipe! This recipe is easy to double to make for a large group.

    Recipe #425337

Adapted from Time/Life Foods of the World. Posted for ZWT6.

    Recipe #423710

Adapted from Prairie Home Cooking. This is the way my Mother used to make macaroni and cheese. The pasta measurement is the measurement for the dried pasta.

    Recipe #419300

A good five stars with the sauce. This is DH's favorite meal and mine too right now. Modified from The Complete Middle East Cookbook by Tess Mallos (She is Greek). This is well worth the effort. Serve this dish with mashed potatoes or it tastes excellent served with Recipe #322603 used as a bed of rice for laying the zucchini on. Along with a fresh salad this will be a wonderful meal.

    Recipe #369509

DH love this because of the garlic. I love it because I love my Crock Pot. I adapted this one from Southern Food.about.com. I use a six quart Crock Pot with a liner and I mince and chop and slice all the veggies with my food processor.

    Recipe #355594

To me Fannie Farmer's recipe is the only "real" Macaroni & Cheese. It's from my 1946 edition of "Fannie Farmer's Boston Cooking School Cookbook". With time on it's side - this recipe is hands down the best for traditional, homemade baked macaroni & cheese - comfort food. Please Note: If you use CHEAP CHEESE you will end up with a BLAND and FLAVORLESS DISH!

    Recipe #135350

I can't believe I haven't posted this one yet, I have been making it for years and it's one of Dh's favorites. I can't remember when I found it and can't find it online, so here it is for safekeeping. Very versatile (though the original is close to perfect if you ask me!), add your favorite cheeses, throw in some chicken or bacon, use a mix of broccoli and cauliflower, etc. Enjoy!

    Recipe #380971

Fast, Easy and Yummy!! Would also be good if you added in chopped squash or zucchini A friend of mine gave me this recipe. She adapted it from the stove top to be made in her rice cooker. I love how quickly it all comes together.

    Recipe #381540

This is a great recipe if you keep kielbasa in your fridge but get tired of the same old recipes.

I found this in Cook's Country, the new magazine by the Cook's Illustrated people. I haven't tried it yet but plan on making it for the Thanksgiving dinner at work. I'm going to go ahead and post it for those looking for Holiday recipes. It's basically a savory cake made with potatoes and eggs, with a layer of cheese and salami in the middle, and made in a springform pan like a cheesecake

Posted in response to the January topic of the month. This is simple and is very easy to adapt to personal tastes. Inexpensive for college kids or if finances are just running low.

This delicious pasta dish came off the back of San Giorgio's Penne Rigate pasta box. We love it. Sometimes I add sauteed chicken breast to it for a complete meal.

    Recipe #376278

There is a lot more than just sausage, cream cheese, and hash browns in this recipe. There is also ground beef and some veggies and potatoes. It should be a down home treat.

    Recipe #374785

There are many similar recipes but none are as good! I got this out of a church cookbook by Karla M. and Roberta G. Besides my mother in-law they are the best cooks in the church! I have made this so many times and it always turns out so yummy! Beware you will be tempted to eat more than you need.

    Recipe #373867

I love this soup on cold days! The slow cooker is an added treat for the busy cook.
