    I originally posted this with the wrong name, so please ignore the bad review. It doesn't seem the reviewer tried making the soup and is posting based on mistaken name only. This recipe is passed down from my grandmother to my mother to me and it is fantastic! The challenge of making this soup is in keeping the yogurt from curdling. It needs to be stirred consistently while cooking. Enjoy!

    I just love lamb shanks and am hoping to try this soon before lamb goes up to much in price. The recipe is from our state daily paper The West Australian. Verjuice is made from white grapes, so at a pinch you could use a dry white wine.

    This is a traditional 'Sunday Lunch' dish. The orzo (a kind of pasta that is shaped like large grains of rice) cooks in the liquid released by the lamb and tomato and becomes very tasty. Many make it with a cut of beef suitable for roasting, cut into large pieces, or even with chicken pieces.

    This has been our Easter dinner almost every year since 1993, when I first tried this recipe published in the now defunct Modern Woman magazine. It was contributed by a reader named Helen Pappas, who suggests to readers that they use dried oregano instead of fresh for a more authentic Greek flavour.
