Entered for safe-keeping, from 3/17/14 Woman's World, this version for adults only. (For a non-alcoholic version, offer lime soda or seltzer water tinted with green ice cubes (made the night before by adding a dop of food coloring to the ice water.) This makes 2 in a tall cocktail shaker.

    Recipe #514059

Entered for safe-keeping, from Nick Caruana on Serious Eats. More at: http://drinks.seriouseats.com/2014/01/classic-cocktail-old-hickory-andrew-jackson-history-vermouth-drink.html. Don't use old bottles of vermouth because this drink is all about the vermouth. This is an easy sipper, mellow. Peychaud's bitters adds a bit of anise and spice -- nice -- but the orange bitters and the lemon twist are essential.

Entered for safe-keeping. This particular recipe uses more ginger ale than pomegranate juice. It is perfect for a brunch. From Woman's World 12/31/07. You may garnish with pomegranate seed ice cubes by filling an ice cube tray halfway, freezing 1 hour, then adding one or 2 pomegranate seeds and filling to top. Freeze for 48 hours to freeze solidly. This is my favorite light soup to start a guest dinner. It came from the 1975 edition of The American Heart Association Cookbook and varies significantly from the 1998 fifth edition version I posted as Recipe # 289524 "Fresh Mushroom Soup". I use a lot of mushrooms, and prefer to see my mushroom slices as opposed to blending everything.
