This is a simple, light, and very pretty dessert, you of course can change the flavors of jello, I made this for the 4th of July, using blueraspberry, and cherry jello, and the flavors listed below at Christmas, are very pretty, and of course everybody loves jello. Time includes chilling.
A 3 ingredient gelatin mold, that tastes just as good as it looks! Ingredients are...boxed strawberry gelatin, boiling water, and frozen, sweetened strawberries. The strawberries I pick myself, and sweetened with
granulated sugar before I freeze them, and use later through out the year.
This salad is one of the best tasting strawberry gelatin molds I've ever made.
This a great recipe to make with kids and for kids. I sent these along with my daughter for her Valentine's Day party. There are many students with allergies, such as milk, wheat, and nuts, and this was a treat they could all enjoy! Cook time is chill time.
I remember being able to buy this type of dessert mix in the supermarket years ago. I don't know if it's still available, but if not, you can now make it from scratch! It is not vegan cause gelatin is not vegan!
This slightly different cranberry salad has been served daily in a locally favorite "home-style" restaurant. It is among the most requested of their delicious recipes. Most of the ingredients are usually on hand in many kitchens.
This is my mother's gelatin salad that she always made for holidays -- my sisters and I have continued this tradition since 1968.
Please do not leave out the extra sharp cheddar cheese -- the cheese makes this salad!
Cook time is the approximate chill time. The number of servings is also approximate.
This is pretty served in a trifle bowl, or a large clear glass bowl. -- NOTE: 1/3 cup sour cream can be folded-in with the cool whip to make the fruit salad less sweet --
This is sooooo easy and light - and YUMMY!! For the 4th, I added the layers of blueberries and blue Jello, but I usually just use strawberries.
When I got this recipe, it called for regular cakes and Jello, but because there are some diabetics in my family, I tried using the sugar-free angel food cakes (Walmart) and Jello - no one can tell the difference. Everyone loves it and because it is so easy to do, it is one of my all-time favorites! The recipe as follows is for a 9 X 13 pan.
My mom has been making this simple and delicious dessert for years. You can easily make this for other holidays by using different colored gelatins (e.g. try black cherry and orange for Halloween).
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the bottom two layers are chilled long enough to become firm and that the top layer is cool before pouring in step 4 or the top layer will go under the cream cheese layer and not make the pretty layered dessert that you want.
My family was outraged when I recently banned premade Jello cups from our house. Enough already with the new convenient society, how hard is it to make Jello? To appease the rioting horde, I promised them I would make the best Jello they'd ever had, Jello they could pick up, the Knox Box I used to eat when I was a kid. Finding the super simple recipe was harder than I thought it would be, but I looked and looked and this is what I remember from my childhood. (The new Jello Jigglers don't cut it for me; they taste too much like gummy bears.) I'm surprised this isn't already on Zaar, but now it is!
The first time I made this my kids were in awe. They loved the colors. I took it to a church potluck and it was gone really quick. The recipe takes time as the jello layers need to set - however the presentation is very nice. I think this is a TOH recipe.
COOL REFRESHING FLAVOR!! This salad has always been a hit at our family gatherings and the men love it best. It goes well with any entree. A very pretty salad when served on a lettuce leaf for dinner. Cooking time includes refrigerator time.
This has been my family's favorite salad for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners since I was little. It was originally called Lime Party Salad and my mom got it out of the Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook in the early 60's. My mom made it with cherry Jello and my little brother names it "Pink Salad".
A crisp salty pretzel crust complements the creamy marshmallow-fluff-like "white" layer, with a tangy topping of strawberries in gelatin. Much like a strawberry cheesecake, but with the surprise of pretzels! For best results, make Strawberry Pretzel Jell-O only one day in advance, to preserve the crunchy texture of the pretzels.
I had this recipe at a shower over 20 years ago and since then has been a must have at holiday's, graduation parties and get-togethers. I use a glass 9x13-inch dish and after it's done it's really pretty to look at and even better to eat..
It is Better if You use vanilla and not vanilla bean ice cream. Thanks for trying my ice cream recipe. :)
Serve this patriotic salad on your next Memorial Day or 4th of July celebration! It's a cool refreshing treat in the hot summer months and is an attractive salad to add to your buffet table! The total prep time is 7 hours, which includes chilling time. You must chill each layer for at least 30 minutes before adding the next colored layer. I usually make this on a day that I'm going to be home all day and I do the layers in between doing my cleaning!
