I developed this way to freeze corn when other methods came out watery, mushy or tasteless. The butter puts a seal around the kernels the lets it keep crunch and the flavor in. I do about 2-3 batches per year and it keeps me through to next season. Number of ears will vary depending on size.
Aah! The last of the figs from my garden.
Thanksgiving is 1 month away so I added cranberries, ginger root, orange, and vanilla. Try it on your turkey or pork roast. Also great on scones or warmed over pancakes making a wonderful holiday breakfast.
This recipe was posted in answer to a message board request. It is from an old cookbook I have (the cover is missing, so I can't tell you which one). Since I don't own a crock pot, I haven't tried it, therefore the "cook time" is an estimate on my part (it was not specified in the recipe).
My Husband loves this Jam. He puts it on his waffles in the morning. I think its a great fall taste. Try it on your thumb print cookies or any dessert that requires Jam. I found this on the National Center for Home Preservation site so it's safe for canning. Enjoy!
This jam recipe is very easy to make and delicious! I like using apple with raspberries. I use pectin because it cuts down the cooking time and sugar significantly and makes the jam nice and thick. This recipe makes nine 8oz. jars. You can cut this recipe in half for a smaller batch. Enjoy!

This is my ex-mother in law's recipe. I got her to e-mail it to me yesterday. It is the best chow recipe I have ever eaten. I've made many many jars of this in my lifetime. You will not be dissappointed if you try this one! I am posting this so I never lose it again! I am guestimating at the amount it makes.
I am planting raspberries next week so I wanted to save this recipe so when they come in I can make this. The raspberry jam should be complemented with the raspberry liqueur. From Small Bath Canning by Topp and Howard.
