I love the sweet and tangy flavors of chutney. They are great served with cheese and crackers, or they add a wonderful flavor to chicken or tuna salad.

Note: If fresh or frozen apricots are not available, one (29 oz.) can apricot halves in heavy syrup, drained, can be used. If using canned apricots, omit granulated sugar.

Posted for the Zaar World Tour 2006-South Africa. From the "Best of International Cooking" cookbook. I haven't had a chance to try this recipe yet. Note: the amount of puff pastry you need for this recipe is 1/2 of a 1-1/4 lb. package. Recipezaar's software doesn't recognize this.

Posted for the Zaar World Tour 2006-Canada. From the "Best of International Cooking" cookbook. Note: prep time does NOT include soaking time for dried beans. UPDATE: I posted this recipe for the Zaar World Tour having never made it before. I have since made this recipe and discovered that it needs a lot of tweaking. It is rather bland, lacking in flavor. When I have time to mess with it, I will post the changes I made.

This has been a favorite since I was a kid. My mom would make this, put it in ziploc bags, and give it out at Halloween.

A nice, fruity drink for those hot summer nights. A pitcher of these really quenches your thirst!!

    Recipe #179684

This is an adapted recipe prepared for the ZWT 8 France Crock Pot Challenge. The original recipe was IngridH's recipe #437150 #437150. I adapted this recipe to be used in a crock pot by adding some additional liquid, and using creme fraiche instead of sour cream. I used creme fraiche because it is more heat stable and doesn't curdle when added to hot liquids.

Posted for the Zaar World Tour 2006-Algeria. From the "Best of International Cooking" cookbook. I have not had the opportunity to try this recipe yet. UPDATE--I am posting this suggestion from a reviewer for making the preparation much easier: pulse the almonds and sugar in a food processor, then pulse in the cornstarch and whole pitted dates. The dates chop up perfectly and the ground almonds/sugar/corn starch keeps the date pieces from sticking to each other.

This recipe is adapted from an old community cookbook from Oklahoma. It is different from traditional cobblers because it doesn't have a biscuit or pastry crust. It has a sugar cookie-type crust and the filling has a meringue-like texture. This is delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream.

This peach sauce is wonderful to use over ice cream or pound cake when fresh peaches are in season. The orange liqueur and brandy really bring out the delicious peach flavor.
