For lung congestion a salve or a massage oil containing essential oils can
be rubbed over the chest, back and throat. The oils will be absorbed through
the skin and lungs as the vapor is inhaled. Place a flannel fabric on the
chest after rubbing in the oil to increase warmth.
(Use only essential oils and never undiluted.)
I bought some rosemary oil and loved it, but wanted to make it more cost effectively at home. Found this recipe by Giada De Laurentiis on Foodtv.com. It is delicious on roasted or grilled veggies and in salad dressings.
As the title suggests this is an easy remedy for those all round ills that seem to strike when we least need them! This has worked very well for our family this year and I hope it will for you. :) You can also add the juice of a lemon and even the skin chopped as well if you like for added vit C. I do sometimes :)
A great home remedy prescribed by my ear, nose & throat specialist for sinus headaches, congestion, colds, and allergies. The salt water clears the "gunk" out. The baking soda soothes irritated membranes, and the glycerine soothes and moisturizes.
From Grassroots #138 Good for small jobs. Never mix more than you will use in one day. This has a gritty finish but this will disappear as you rub down between coats. Drying time is quick. Keep adding more coats until you get the colour you want.
Is your laundry looking dingy? Are you seeing spots before your eyes? To keep your washer spotlessly clean, it is important to remember to give it a once over every six months, or every three months if you have hard water. Is your Dish Washer dingy? See my recipe for Recipe #87538 ! From Talking Dirty Laundry with the Queen or Clean, by Linda Cobb
We have cats and dogs and once a month I ”treat” the house using this. I use mostly lavender and rosemary oil but also like lemongrass or peppermint. They say that using lavender and rosemary it not just refreshes but it keeps away fleas and moths. I think that makes sense because I make soap that I use on our dogs and that also uses rosemary as one of the ingredients. If you have friends that like Potpourri as a gift they will also like this.Once you have made this and like it, try to buy the rosemary and lavender in bulk.
This is by far the best all purpose cleaner I've found. It is fabulous on windows and mirrors, degreases wonderfully, and cuts gunk on sinks etc. and shines, shines, shines. I use it for everything but wood.
This is straight out of the laundry room of DH's grandmother; it works too! I've also entered this under the "kid friendly" category because there was no "parent friendly" category to choose from! This spray concoction has been a godsend when getting stains out of my toddlers clothes.
