Very simple and quick dinner when dressed up with a tossed salad. This recipe was modified from one out of a Weight Watcher's cookbook. Feel free to vary what you add to the pizza.

Recipe #56451

This is my kids' favorite meal. And it's so easy to prepare, that they often do it themselves! It's very cheesy! I've also made this and cooked it in the microwave during the summer. Freezing instructions included. If you prefer, you may sub in ricotta cheese for the cottage cheese.

Wonderful take on the Italian Meatball Sandwich. Taken from "Quick Cooking" Magazine.

Everything you love about hot wings, but with loads of cheese and a crispy crust – and of course no bones! One of the beautiful things about this calzone (aside from being addictively delicious) is that it can be a very quick assembly, or an entirely made-from-scratch creation. I used store-bought dough (1/2 ball) , pre-breaded chicken tenders, jarred chunky blue cheese dressing, but opted to grate the white cheddar and mozzarella cheeses myself. So easy, so very very good………..

I found this on the Six Sisters' Stuff recipe blog and I am dying to try it! The ingredients are simple and everything comes together pretty quickly. It would also be a great way to use up leftover chicken. Servings depend on how many biscuits are in your tube.

Recipe #474528

This dough is simple to make and has a slightly sweet taste. The kids love making their own pizza pockets, and I love using leftovers to make calzone type sandwiches. Make some up for dinner, or choose fillings that freeze well and you can make a bunch to have on hand for lunches and picnics. *Note: this is a sticky dough to aid in pinching the pockets closed. Adjust flour as needed to work with it. Mixing time: 15 minutes Rising time: 30 minutes Baking time: 20 minutes

This calzone is made with refrigerated pizza dough and makes great appetizers.

My chef in training (my son) and I wanted something “different" for breakfast and we came up with this.

I took inspiration from two places. A local Pizzeria that makes a mean Calzone, and a great recipe for a make ahead pocket here on recipezaar that has been a hit with my family again & again. I use generic ingredients when possible, though the nutritional info sometimes only works here when name brands are used. Also, the units used are whole packages, so you shouldn't be left with extra, or you can reduce it accordingly. All in all, this is an inexpensive, portable, easy meal to make for the family. It has been a real hit. Credit to the other Recipezaar inspiration, recipe # 231311.

From Fabulous Fat-Free Cooking. This savory pizza turnover makes a terrific dinner, just serve with a tossed salad.

If you are a pizza fan you'll love this! It's mega popular with the teen set I can tell you. Prep does not include making the dough.

Variation on a Robin Miller recipe. She used steamed broccoli and no garlic in hers. You can use any vegetables (roasted or raw) you like or cooked meat (pepperoni, sausage, etc). When I made this, I actually used two cans of Pillsbury pizza dough (about 13.5 ounces each) and divided the filling to make one veggie calzone and one pepperoni calzone.

Bird's favorite calzone and filling (ok, Buddha loves it too). This is made using Recipe #265466. You can make one large calzone, or divide the dough into two or four and have small individual servings. You can add a side of warmed Recipe #255242, but we enjoy it 'as is'. You can bake the calzones, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, and then freeze the calzones for up to one month, just defrost in microwave, then re-heat on your pizza stone for 10 minutes in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven. You can add your own fillings of choice, and if you add marinera or pizza sauce inside a calzone, it becomes a wonderful stromboli!

Recipe #263900

We had a brunch to plan, and my husband had the odd idea of making a calzone but with breakfast items inside of it. It turned out to be delicious, and we have made it several times since. Its easy to make, and you can add just about any ingredients you want.

All you need is ... a calzone for lunch! Prepare at home and enjoy these pizza dough sandwiches whenever you want!

This is a great, tasty big calzone! I used one can of Pillsbury pizza dough (about 13.5 ounces) which is a great way to make this calzone quickly. I made one large calzone which was divided to serve two people.

Recipe #284057

This is a rather quick, yet yummy recipe. You don't have to use the onions, pepper or mushrooms if you don't want.

Recipe #116245

Let the kids help you mix up the cheese mixture.

This makes a really nice change from pizza. The classic ham and pineapple combination works beautifully here.

Meal in a pizza crust. I love to make a huge batch of these with 3-4 different fillings, freeze them, and pack a few in the husband's lunch. The pizza crust is one my mom has used for years, and the fillings come from playing around with my favorite things to eat.
