My mother-in-law gave me this recipe when I was just a bride. I make two batches a year to keep up with supply & demand! The kids love this on sandwiches, burgers, brats, hotdogs, grilled cheese, fries, cake (okay, just checkin'!!!). One institutional size can of ketchup will yield 8 cups.

Follow the basic recipe then skip down to the various seasoning options to mix-n-match what goes with your salad, soup or meal. Life never has to be boring again!

There are numerous recipes for this famous herb mixture from the South of France. As a rule, it always contains thyme, lavender, rosemary, basil, savory, marjoram and basil, but it DOES vary from area to area depending on local tastes. This is my own "Auberge" blend that I make & use regularly in our Chambres d'Hôtes; I find it appeals to most people's taste! Feel free to add or omit those herbs that you are not keen on or find difficult to obtain. This makes a wonderful gift - add a ribbon, a sprig of lavender & a recipe! (I sell this blend at the Auberge, in little fabric bags with a recipe sheet inside!)

My husband thought these were a snack I made for him to munch on while he watched TV, they were gone so quick I didn't have time to put them on a salad or a bowl of soup! These would also be great if you sliced the bread, you would need to adjust the baking time.

This is the perfect "recipe" for making your own homemade crayons out of the broken crayons lying around your house. This is a fun project to do with your kids! This would also make a fun birthday party project or gift giving idea for young ones! Note: the amount of crayons depends on the type of tin/mold used. ***There is no paraffin needed for this recipe - just broken, chopped up crayons (paraffin was put in as the ingredients per Zaar's system)***

I have made this for Christmas and also for Summer parties - it is delicious! It keeps in the fridge for up to a year (as I am writing this, I am having a sip of my liqueur I prepared for Easter - and it is still as good (if not better)!! I got this recipe from a Cooking light magazine.

This mild taco seasoning replaces one of the store-bought packets. It is super-speedy to use with only four ingredients. No preservatives, no sugar, no msg, no fuss!

I saw this today on Paula Deen's show and HAD to try it since I had almost a quart of yogurt. It works. And I liked it better than using just yogurt. Cooking time is refrigeration time, preparation is time for butter to cool.

I work in an office with 5 doctors and as you know, doctors are always washing their hands which makes them dry. We make this lotion for them and they LOVE IT!! **UPDATE 3/31/09: I use 4 oz. of Vaseline petroleum jelly, it would not let me enter it on the ingredients part and for the Vitamin E, you can use lotion or cream, whatever you like or can find. I also tried the NEW cucumber melon baby lotion....AWESOME!!, husband and son liked it but I still like the regular pink the best. I ONLY use J&J baby lotion because it seems to work the best. Thanks to everyone who has given me reviews....

From my "Heart Healthy Cookbook" of delicious healthy recipes from Edina, MN in 1995. Make 9, 10 ounce cans of soup. This is much less expensive and contains far less sodium than canned soups. Add sautéed chopped mushrooms, chopped celery, or bits of cooked chicken to resemble the cream soup you usually use.

One of the first questions I asked on this site was for homemade V-8 juice. Have been constantly looking until the other day at the dentist office when the assistant gave me her mother's recipe. Wow!, so simple and so good.07/19/08: UPDATE! I made a large pitcher-full today and added about 11/2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce for an added kick. The guys really liked it! Me?....still like the original best. 09/16/08: ANOTHER UPDATE: I have now had two different members point out to me that the former name of this name of this recipe, Homemade V-8 Juice, is a poor choice as it is not homemade.......and I agree, thus the new name.

I found this one at www.stretcher.com while looking for "homemade baking mixes". This recipe comes out rich and fudgy every single time. It's also very easy to put together initially. Prep time is the time it takes to mix a full batch of brownie mix and put it in bags. Putting it in bags is not necessary, it's just something I do to make an easy thing even easier. Please Note: I have changed the Yield. It was 12 bags. I made a batch tonight and got 10 bags. In my neck of the woods, the cost of each bags-worth of mix comes to $0.53, making this the least expensive dessert in my cookbook. I arrived at this price using Hershey's cocoa.

I am always looking for ways to cut some calories without cutting taste! This is from the SPLENDA® Web site.

A while back I saw a program where a textile conservator discussed taking the stains that come from age, along with tough stains out of any fabric. Sure she demonstrated it and it worked incredibly, but would it work THAT WELL when I tried it on my own? Probably not. BUT IT DID. It was phenomenal. A friend and I collect vintage G.I. Joe dolls and it took a 20+ year old magic marker stain completely out of a light colored garment. That's when I was sold. My sister kept a covered bucket of this mixture next to my neice's changing table when she was a baby. Parents know how difficult formula, milk and baby food stains are to get out. This works wonders.

From Top Secret Recipes www.topsecretrecipes.com. "This recipe is practically identical to the one Kraft uses for their Shake'n Bake bread coating. The only difference you'll find is that the real Shake'n Bake contains beet powder - a hard to find ingredient that gives the mix a dark orange tint. It doesn't do much for the flavor however, so it's been left out of the recipe. Try it and you'll swear it's the same thing."

I found this recipe on a cornstarch box in 1982 and what a great recipe. It is not only easy, but saves money not having to buy it ready made. I use it for cut up vegetables, fish and onion rings.
