The daily workers of Italy have long made food that sustains them through the hours . This delicious and hearty dish will fuel your morning's work well. That goes for a relaxed week end brunch too.

Forget that cardboard box and cheese powder! Well, maybe keep it for the kids. Try the real deal with four different types of real cheese making this baked pasta dish truly comforting. A sprinkling of homemade garlic bread crumbs creates a toasty crust, and a drizzle of truffle oil (optional, I've never used it) is a luxurious touch

This is a true man pleaser, think of it for TV game parties. Fresh marinara sauce makes all the difference in these hearty sandwiches. Look for it near the cheeses and fresh pasta at the supermarket. I'm thinking that a mess of meatballs could be made ahead and frozen to be used as and when wanted.

You won't find red sauce in this dish, just cheesy goodness. If you feel like indulging just a bit give this a try. You can easily double this recipe and make one for today and an extra to pop in the freezer for a heat-and-eat meal someday in the future.

Water? Yep, even if you don't usually take your coffee drinks without some kind of cream, you'll love the mix of sparkling water and espresso. A nice and unique bubbly coffee concoction.

This light and frosty dessert is the perfect ending to a summer meal. It will take a few hours, so plan to make this espresso sorbet ahead of time so you can enjoy it later. Of course you can always use an ice crean maker if you have one.

A latte recipe for people who don't want to overpower the taste of your espresso with too many additions. Just a hint of honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. You can used warmed cream instead of the steamed milk for a thicker latte. Use as much or little of the milk, honey, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg as you like to make it your own.

From www.italyum.com. "This recipe belongs to the culinary tradition of the city of Milan. It's a very old recipe, probably more than 400 years old and the story goes that while an artist was preparing the dye to colour the window glass of the cathedral (Il Duomo di Milano), his apprentice, by accident, poured some saffron powder into the near by pan of rice. Since then, the recipe has been elaborated many times, until nowadays. When cooking the proper "risotto alla Milanese" you require the use of some beef bone marrow at an early stage in the cooking."
