[Cover photo by PaulaG.] Recipes using Splenda. Remember that there are several formulations of Splenda (Splenda sugar substitute packets; granulated Splenda; Splenda-sugar blend for baking). Be sure to use the kind that is called for in your recipe. See Book 2 for baked goods and Book 3 for beverages using Splenda.
I had a similar salad from a deli and tried to duplicate it. This is what I ended up with. I think it's fabulous! The deli salad was my first experience trying hearts of palm...now they're a new favorite!
This was my decadent tasting gift to myself this morning (in an attempt to avoid all the baked goods that keep cropping up at work this holiday season). I modeled it on toni gifford's Ginger Peach Oatmeal #112474 which I love and eat often. But this is just enough different that I decided to post it so I'll remember. I loved it, but I love candied ginger. In fact, I may add more next time.
A yummy versatile breakfast, snack, or dessert dish that's healthy too! The plain non-fat yogurt makes it a little tangy, which I love, but you could always use vanilla yogurt. It's very quick, easy, and kid friendly. My three year old loves it.
Excellent on a salad topped with blue cheese, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges and pecans but good on any green salad. I have made it with Splenda and even though it isn't quite as good IMHO, it is still a nice dressing. (The servings amount is a guess)
Inspired by a recipe from Cooking Light, this is a simple but full flavored dish. The original calls for flounder but works well with sole and other mild fishes. Really surprised this isn't in the 'Zaar collection already as it is one of our favorites.
I love meatloaf, but traditional recipes always include high carb no-no's like bread crumbs or oatmeal, so when I found this recipe, I couldn't wait to try it. It was wonderfully satisfying. From chef George Stella from "Low Carb and Lovin' It" (I do have to admit I used low carb ketchup instead of the topping)
