For those of you who hate poison-type drain cleaners, use white vinegar and baking soda. This will clean and unclog a drain. Also drops of white vinegar in your pet's water will keep away fleas and ticks!
I couldn't believe how dirty my watch and silver jewelry were when I tried this. Yuck! This saves money and is safe for you and the environment. The solution can be very drying to your hands so consider using rubber gloves or even tweezers to handle the jewelry. This recipe is from wire-sculpture.com.
This is by far the best all purpose cleaner I've found. It is fabulous on windows and mirrors, degreases wonderfully, and cuts gunk on sinks etc. and shines, shines, shines. I use it for everything but wood.
This will help take care of those fruit flies that gather around the stuff you have to take out to the compost pile or those bananas you haven't gotten around to baking with yet. The photo I posted (the one with the cherry & grape tomatoes) shows several fruit flies on the paper already (and a couple are in the vinegar, though you can't see them)--not even three minutes after making the trap! Some kinds of cider vinegar work better than others--typically, I find the darker the vinegar, the better it works.
I know some people have said they prefer to use plastic wrap over the top, but I find that the paper cone (though it takes some fiddling to get it to fit just right) works best.
This makes an excellent gift. Make sure you make some for yourself too though because it really smells wonderful. Please note, you need to use whole cloves. Ground cloves are much stronger and will definitely overwhelm the other scents. If you aren't a fan of cloves, feel free to leave them out entirely. I do sometimes.
Environmentally friendly, no harsh chemicals!
We tried the expensive cleaners and found our floors still looked streaky and dull. This homemade cleaner makes them look bright, streak free and beautiful!
My wonderful Auntie Karen(Chef Yogi) has been so generous and kind to me. She sent me over half a dozen awesome essential oils which is something I have been wanting for so many months!! She sent me this wonderful easy recipe that was listed on www.make-stuff.com I have just finished making this and using it in my horribly dirty sink and now, I have the most clean and glowing sink I have ever seen in my kitchen! Nobody would believe I haven't used even a little Vim or Jif tonight to clean my sink if they saw it. Something so easy as this, and using just 4 ingredients is a true winner and a sure keeper in my book. Hope this will make you as happy as it made me! I am going to use this as long as these oils last!;) In my opinion, this would make a nice gift to give a would-be bride or your best friend for that matter or your neighbour or mom or MIL. Whoever you gift this to, is going to love you for it! ENJOY!
WOW! No streaks, no smears, no buffing. This will clean ceramic tile counter tops, windows and their vinyl casings, SS appliances, sealed wood AND it removes hairspray from mirrors. So far that's all I've tried it on, as I came up with this recipe just this morning. I've been a cleaning fool today, experimenting on everything. I love it...Let me know what you think.
