    Another, cheap homemade beauty concoction.

Easy to make and inexpensive (you might even have all the ingredients on hand), this homemade tea is packed with ingredients that have natural antibiotic and immune-boosting properties. Adapted from Alex Jamieson's book The Great American Detox Diet.

    Recipe #351322

After using DeSouter's recipe#106056 I decided to combine two great old time home remedies. I was glad this worked well for me. Hope it works for you and yours too!

    Recipe #336646

NOT EDIBLE!!! Given to me by my Vet Tech to counteract the side effects of a skunk encounter.

    Recipe #349881

I created this drink when I felt a bad cold coming on, and wanted a tasty way to keep it at bay. Oranges provide vitamin C, honey soothes sore throats, cinnamon helps relive nausea, clove quells coughs, and ginger root aids in clearing the sinuses. Also a delicious, warming beverage for those chilly winter days.

    Recipe #346699

No joke, this simple concotion from the famous, Vermont Folk Medicine book by D.C. Jarvis works like a miracle, but it's just Mother Nature at work for us. Apple Cider Vinegar is known to have so many medicinal/healing attributes, so put this one to work for your sore or strep throat. Yep....strep. This will knock the crapola out of the bacteria that's tryin' to knock the crap out of you. Be very sure that you are using real apple cider vinegar, as Heinz now makes an apple cider vinegar "flavored" liquid. (WHY??)

    Recipe #106056

If you are having trouble falling asleep this will nod-you-off in no time flat, and also works wonders for a sore throat too! Please adjust the sugar to taste, you will *love* this!

    Recipe #217683

I am from Turlock. The Doctors Julien totally revolutionized medicine in our community around the turn of the century. This "recipe" has come down through the Julien and Olson family. Trust me it works!!!

    Recipe #253085

I found this in Toddler 411, and will never find it when my kids are sick...so I am posting it here.

    Recipe #331483

Do you have sinus congestion with clogged ears? Well this is for you, very simple. This recipe was given to me by several nurses I work with; it's the same advice they give to our patients (pediatric through adult) and so they gave the same advice to me when I had these symptoms and let me tell you, it works wonders.

    Recipe #109902

Hi, I am a pediatrician & this is what I recommend to my patients. The alcohol helps dry the canal and the vinegar acidifies it which inhibits bacterial growth. Cheap and easy!

    Recipe #62628

Make sure you are close to a bed! I made this for my roommate in University when she had trouble sleeping, she had to crawl up the stairs to her bed (no joke):)

    Recipe #56056

This is an excellent hair treatment that you could do once a month. Cut the recipe in half for shorter hair

    Recipe #319574

Apple Cider Vinegar helps bring the pH level back to the hair

    Recipe #319582

I found this recipe during my travels. I haven't made it up, but am posting for that someone who is ambitious to try something different. The proteins from the malt and hops in the beer coat the hair shaft and helps repair any damaged hair

    Recipe #319589

This NON-EDIBLE recipe is named after the strange material that falls from the sky in Dr. Seuss' book, Bartholomew and the Oobleck. It's a really fun recipe to be used as a science experiment of sorts with young children. ----Is it a solid? ---- Is it a liquid? **It's a liquid until pressure is applied. Hit it hard and it feels like you are hitting a wall! Touch it gently and the material will flow around your fingers like water! **Have fun using different utensils to play- see what form it takes while using different cups, spoons, bowls, etc. HAPPY PLAYING!

    Recipe #289923

I was a skeptic when I first saw this cure on the internet. But I had several embarrassing warts on my fingers and was ready to try anything. Let me tell you this really works!! None of mine have come back and I did this months ago. The "recipe" stated apple cider vinegar so I'm not sure if white vinegar will work. Zaar didn't recognize Q-tip or Band-aid when I was submitting so use them instead of cotton balls and tape. *edit* - I thought I should add that once the vinegar gets inside the wart it may start to sting a little, but it is well worth it.

    Recipe #298036

My pediatrician gave this to my Mom at least '30-something' years ago. It is supposed to help reduce high fevers, vomiting and settle upset tummies. Gingerale still reminds me of being sick and stuck in bed all day with my comic books.
