This is great for injuries and keeping beverages cool.

    Recipe #91931

Just like the name says- this is my home remedy for the "Mama, I don't feel so good" blues. Try it for yourself. What have you got to lose? oh ya... you can lose the stuffy nose, scratchy throat, coughing your head off crud! Feel better soon!

    Recipe #157183

I get compliments on my skin all the time. Here's my secret. This scrub, along with no makeup is the key to my smooth skin. Please take care, though, this might be a little harsh for really sensitive/damaged/broken skin. Great for body, too-just adjust the measurements to your liking. A thick paste for heavy scrubbing, or less powder for light exfoliation--it works, and leaves your skin baby-smooth. Great for rough winter skin.

This is very inexpensive compared to all the whiteners on the market. And is not the same as those gels on the market this has only 2 ingredients which you know and are at hand in every home. It gets your teeth & gums nice and clean. I do it once every couple weeks. A great way to remove wine, tea, coffee, & tarter stains. If you don't like the taste add a a drop of mint extract. It's is SAFE for your use and has been used for a long time. You can check this article at http://www.dentalgentlecare.com/whitening_safety.htm Take Note A recent report suggested a "possible" link between tooth whitening and oral cancer. It was based on two (only 2)case reports of patients who contracted oral cancer with none of the known risk factors. There are no new studies cited. We call this to your attention because the report got substantial media play. Interestingly, the report itself states that carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide-chemicals generated in the whitening process-AREN'T CARCINOGENS IN THE MOUTH. June 2002 2003 2004 http://educate-yourself.org/cancer/benefitsofhydrogenperozide17jul03.shtml This is no more cancerous then the fat, grilled food and processed foods people put in their bodies filled with ingredients your can't read. If you go into your cabinet and read the hydrogen peroxide bottle it states to use as an gargle and mouth rinse.

After hearing about the famous Hershey Spa and being too far away to visit there, I decided to come up with my own recipe for Chocolate Milk bath. Here it is...

    Recipe #84973

This is not a soap but is designed to remove in-grained dirt, leaving hands soft and lightly perfumed. (I've not tried this yet but posting it so I can find it again. Sugar quantity is a guestimate. Zaar doesn't like dried Yarrow!)

Green Tea will tighten pores, provide anti-aging benefits and is ideal for soothing troubled or sunburned skin. This comes from the Herb Companion Website and is added for the Comfort Cafe. This infusion should be refrigerated if not used within 3 days. Adendum: After reading up on camomile tea, I've added it to the infusion.

This is great for dry skin and ezcema. Cheap and economical.

This was always my favourite "toy" when I was growing up. You can make it into shapes of all sorts of things. I had so much fun, tint it whatever colour you like. I usually had pink as it was my favourite colour.

    Recipe #177287

For babies and adults alike suffering from rash and itchies. Calms and soothes. This recipe came to me from a skin care instructor suffering from keratosis pilaris aka those tiny bumps on the upper arms you get in the cold months.

I work in an office with 5 doctors and as you know, doctors are always washing their hands which makes them dry. We make this lotion for them and they LOVE IT!! **UPDATE 3/31/09: I use 4 oz. of Vaseline petroleum jelly, it would not let me enter it on the ingredients part and for the Vitamin E, you can use lotion or cream, whatever you like or can find. I also tried the NEW cucumber melon baby lotion....AWESOME!!, husband and son liked it but I still like the regular pink the best. I ONLY use J&J baby lotion because it seems to work the best. Thanks to everyone who has given me reviews....

I buy a transparant or white liquid soap for this, it shows the honey color when made. You could also use a neutral bubble bath as a base. I now sell this at craft fairs and for the packaging I bought old fashioned glass milk bottles. If you plan to give this as a gift, save up small salad dressing bottles, that is what I used to use. My favorite fragrances for this are: patchouli with orange, jasmin, honey or lavender. The oil is good if you have a dry skin, you can half the amount or leave it out because it will reduce the bubbles, and don't forget to tie your hair up otherwise it gets greasy from the oil!

Chef #248023 inspired me to make this after I made her Recipe #256951. Shea butter is known for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient. As well as an anti-inflammatory agent. Shea butter can be effective at treating the following conditions: fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, chapped lips, stretchmarks, wrinkles and in lessening the irritation of psoriasis. Also provides natural UV sun protection but don't rely on it as a sunscreen because it filters out only little amounts of UV rays. Shea butter absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. It can be bought on line.

This drink is my MIL alternative to tea for her sick children. It is sweet and soothing when you have a sore throat or a bad cold. But I guess you could drink it anytime. The almond flavor is what makes this drink so wonderful. Best served on a cold winter day.

These bath bombs make fantastic gifts - they are just dropped into a hot bath & they fizz & dissolve releasing a beautiful fragrance! Surprisingly easy to make, let your imagination run WILD & experiment with different oils & colours - I also like to add dried rose petals, dried lavender & fine glitter......the possibilities are endless! I use heart shaped moulds, friand cake tins & round Christmas baubles for moulds. Let me know your ideas! I buy the citric acid in a large bag from an Asian supermarket.
