This came from an old issue of Martha Stewart Living...can't remember just which one. This recipe takes some time and effort, but feels so decadent with the watermelon "ice" cubes, it's totally worth the trouble. Nice on a summer afternoon to sip one of these on the deck and imagine that Martha might unwind in the same way...LOL!
This is a delicious drink for a hot summer day with friends.
Use a shot of Bacardi Limon per glass.
You can use sugar but I used equal part Splenda and could not tell the difference.................maybe because I had one too many of these? LOL!
You can use other lime based products but the Bacardi one gives it a lovely hint of spice and richness.
This cocktail is served at the Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. This fine old hotel built in 1912 is perched on the edge of Stanley Park and it was home to Vancouver's very first cocktail lounge which opened in 1954. The lounge is an excellent place to take in English Bay sunsets. Drinks at the Sylvia are inspired by the hotel's surroundings. This particular drink is named to commemorate a landmark tree nearby that was uprooted in the windstorms of late 2006. Enjoy.
Doctor, doctor, give me the news.... You'll feel no pain after one of these babies! Another tropical style drink...There are a couple other Pain Killer recipes here on Zaar but neither of them had the same amounts or ingredients. This one is delicious!
