    Grilling

We grill at least two times a week during the summer. These are some of my recipes, some I've tried and loved and some I want to try soon.

This is one of our all time favorite chicken BBQ recipes. The recipe produces a spicy moist, flavorful BBQ chicken. You might say its one of our signature BBQ recipes. The idea for the chicken came out of a bargain bin. The store was selling 3 cookbooks for a dollar and naturally I couldn't pass that up. I found a BBQ recipe that had possibilities. Since we like spicy food we jazzed it up a bit and we got a great BBQ chicken. Prep time includes marinating time.

Save your money and shop wisely! I was able to make 32 home-made, yummy hamburgers ("quarter pounders") for $32.00. I've cut this recipe down to 8, for family portion size. Make however big or small of a batch you may need. For the 32 burgers, I purchased the following: 8 lbs of 80/20 ground beef @ $2.19/lb ($17.52), 1 lb bacon @ $3.49/lb, 2 - 8oz blocks of cheese @ 2/$4.00, 2 heads of iceberg lettuce @ $0.69/ea ($1.38), 4 large tomatoes @ $0.49/ea ($1.96), 4 - 8ct pkgs of buns @ $0.89/ea ($3.65). My grand total was $32.00 exactly! The key to this is to buy everything when it is 'on sale', and "FREEZE IT"!!! (Okay, you can't freeze the veggies, but all else you can). I hope this recipe comes in handy for anyone wanting to feed a crowd. And it sure beats the "Value Meal" burgers, and these are so much better! I created this (on very short notice), to feed to a group of 30+ men that were staying at a local church for the evening. They loved the burgers, so I was happy. I hope you enjoy!

A nice change of pace from barbecued ribs. This recipe can easily be doubled...

Throw this on the grill with your 'burgers or steaks and corn on the cob or potatoes and the only mess in the kitchen is your measuring spoon! I prepare everything for the grill, hand it off to my husband and sit back and relax!!

Lots of flavor. These are very addictive. Once you had one you'll eat them all. You can eat these hot or cold. And you can try any veggies you like.

This is a great corn recipe to serve at your next BBQ. You do it in advance and just finish cooking just before serving. Great flavor and you will get a few OOHs from your guests

If cooking on the grill this is great served with grilled potatoes and a tossed salad for a simple summer supper that doesn't heat up the kitchen! Recipe source: Bon Appetit (May 1982)

Polish sausage and potatoes, flavored with onion and fresh rosemary, cooked in foil. You can also bake the packets in the oven.

This is the first Thai-style dish I ever attempted to make, after I 'discovered' how delicious Thai food is. This recipe is easy enough (for the beginner that I was 10 years ago) and the ingredients not too difficult to find. Prep time does not include the several hours to overnight marinading time.

    Recipe #71505

Delicious grilled duck is done in two stages: first parboiling the duck in a tasty orange broth and then grilling the pieces basting with a fruity glaze. I used a charcoal grill, adding wood chips to the charcoal for a wonderful smoky flavor, but the duck can be also grilled on a gas grill or even under the broiler. The grilling time is approximate because it will depend on what type of final grilling is done.

An interesting way to use leftover roasted duck (if you are lucky enough to have leftovers) served as appetizers with Hot Corn Relish recipe#178036 or your favorite corn relish. Recipe source: Coyote Cafe

Indoor Or Outdoor BBQ Potatoes. Either way they come out yummy. For better clean-up in oven you can also do the foil!
