My friend's mom owns a yakiniku resteraunt but she also cooks various other foods. This is her chahan recipe.
She really uses chashaorou (chaashuu) but I don't know the word in English, but she said Bacon is okay too.
If you like green peas, you can add 2 tbsps. (I don't like green peas, that's why I didn't add them into the ingredients list).
Use how ever much olive oil, salt, and pepper you think you need.
This is an easy crowd pleaser. I have been making it for years. This is my first attempt to write it down (I may come back and make some edits to the "dressing". I have always just kind of mixed things together. I have found that using some authentic ingredients does make it stand out. Fish Sauce and sriracha hot sauce are availabe in the Asian section of most supermarket today. White pepper is hit or miss. Spice stores and many ethnic grocery stores carry it. The French use it in white sauces so you get the pepper flavor, but you do not the specs.
This is not an exacting recipe. If you want is spicier add more hot sauce. If not, use less. More tart add vinegar, etc. Add grilled chicken or cooked shrimp and make it a meal.
Prep time is about 30 minutes. It does need to chill 2 hours before serving.
A great, easy alternative to making green chicken enchiladas. You can make them spicier by sprinkling verde sauce over the top before baking. You can also add black beans or chopped tomatoes to add a little flair.
I got this easy, delicious recipe from a friend, whose friend used to serve this in her restaurant in Ireland (hence my name for the dish). The addition of fresh cilantro is key to the flavor of this dish in my opinion.
A delicious and easy pasta dish that you can substitute chicken for the shrimp if you are not a fan. You can also use a different shape of pasta, but linguine is nice. The optional ingredients are really good but you can omit if you can't stand a little heat. If I use all those ingredients, I find it a little hot, so I add about 1/2 cup half and half cream. I tried to keep it healthy here though! Enjoy!
