Great gift idea that I saw this on T.V. and put here for safe keeping.

    Recipe #367414

My own version of the brand name boxed rice mix. This is a very basic, versatile dish. Dress it up by adding additional seasonings or vegetables at cooking time. Green peas are particularly nice.

    Recipe #364583

Makes a pretty "In a Jar" gift. Simply layer the dry ingredients in a glass jar and add the directions along with the butter and condensed milk to a tag to accompany the jar.

    Recipe #363449

I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Splenda. A serving size is 3 tablespoons. I plan to use decaff. coffee and no sugar added nesquik.

I always had to make this twice for Christmas, I save 1 batch for us and wrap the rest in little packages to give as gifts.

    Recipe #289432

I found this one at while looking for "homemade baking mixes". This recipe comes out rich and fudgy every single time. It's also very easy to put together initially. Prep time is the time it takes to mix a full batch of brownie mix and put it in bags. Putting it in bags is not necessary, it's just something I do to make an easy thing even easier. Please Note: I have changed the Yield. It was 12 bags. I made a batch tonight and got 10 bags. In my neck of the woods, the cost of each bags-worth of mix comes to $0.53, making this the least expensive dessert in my cookbook. I arrived at this price using Hershey's cocoa.

WOW! So good! This is LOVE in a jar! hehehe Great for gift giving and a GREAT project for kids of all ages! Wonderful to do on a rainy day or ANY day. You will need to attach a card to the jar with the directions to finish the 'smores'. I like to print them out, hole punch and thread on some raffia. Tie the raffia and card around the mason jar and give as a gift!

This is an adopted recipe. I shall be trying it out and then post any additional information if needs be. Feel free to try it out first and share your comments!

    Recipe #4290

This is a "cookie in a jar" recipe and makes a wonderful gift!

    Recipe #248167

I have not tried this recipe. I got it from Pinching Your Pennies.

    Recipe #245031

As the holidays approach, I am looking for more mixes to make as gifts. I am including the recipe, and some suggested uses. Enjoy!

This makes a lovely home made gift to give to friends and family.

    Recipe #144207

I haven't tried this yet. I found it while searching for gifts mixes for in a jar. Sounds delish! Cook time does not include overnight soaking.

    Recipe #214922

My friend gave me this recipe to help heal and protect the body, and it's amazing! All the ingredients help a different part of the body function better. Plus it tastes great!

    Recipe #213663

Do you like Mulled Cider? I made these for gifts one year and gave them with tag instructions. Great on a cool evening. It fills the house with this wonderful aroma.

Australian chef flip shelton suggests spicing up a pot of tea "by adding 1-2 teaspoons of this blend with the tea leaves". The tea can be drunk black or white. From her fabulous book 'green: modern vegetarian recipes'. I have also posted her Spiced Coffee recipe. Both have been posted for the post-ZWT Healthy for the Holidays Challenge. Drunk without milk, this tea is 14 calories and has 0.5g fat. This Spiced Tea and the Spiced Coffee are both great low fat choices!

This brandy recipe is so simple to make but it takes 3 months of flipping the gallon is soooo worthwhile tho'.

Replace those boxes with a homemade version. I have only tried the stroganoff so far, but the kids absolutely loved this (even more than the boxed stuff!).
