This recipe comes from a local Indian restaurant here in my hometown. You can substitute chicken or fish for the tofu.

This is derived and slightly adapted from the "Tofu-chiladas" recipe in "Vegetarian Meals for People on the Go" by Vimala Rodgers. If you're vegetarian, it's a nice alternative to beans in your Mexican food. My husband said I could probably pass it off to meat-eaters as eggs in a breakfast burrito. I would never try to fool anyone, though.

    Recipe #264305

A tasty snack or appetizer. Tofu cubes are very crispy outside, yet warm and soft inside. Sort of like Asian "french fries". And i simple love the sauce, even used it as salad dressing sometimes!

I am trying to have tofu more often and thought this recipe looked good. If following the WW flex plan this is only 3 points/serving. Recipe source: WW Magazine (January 2008)

If you were to use this in a BLT sandwich and replaced the bacon with it, you would never know the difference! My kids are bacon lovers, but now they prefer this. It doesn't look quite like bacon but it tastes the same.

    Recipe #148899

I'm not really sure where I got this recipe. It's written in my handwriting on a 3x5 card that's stained with soy sauce. This makes a good marinade for beef or pork.

    Recipe #245448

I made this up cause it sounded good, and it was! Leftover marinade can be used as a salad dressing.

A vegan version of the classic Chicken A La King, this recipe uses tofu as the main ingredient. Delicious as a main meal and is liked by both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I've served this to my very "Meat and Potatoes" type parents and they both love it. My neice, who is normally a very picky eater, will gobble this up as well so it's good for kids too. :) Serve with a side of veggies or a nice salad and you have a delicious and healthful complete meal. ***note*** Feel free to adjust the amount of mushrooms and peas to your liking. Carrots go nicely in this dish is well, but it's optional so I left it out of the recipe.

Adapted from How It All Vegan!

I am addicted to baked tofu!! Thank you Mollie Katzen and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest for the excellent marinade recipe! The tofu never lasts long enough to make it into a stir-fry at my house. I end up eating it by itself. I love it hot or cold. And of course absolutely everything to do with this recipe can be adapted to taste or what you have in the kitchen. Enjoy!

I love Thai food! This tastes so fresh!

    Recipe #108052

So much healthier for you and easy to make! Can also use with your favorite salads or use as a dip for fresh vegetables. To dress up this basic mayonnaise, simply add 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite seasoning in the blender along with the other ingredients. From the cookbook, The Best of Silver Hills Delicious Vegetarian Cuisine. Cooking time doesn't include time to chill.

Friends of mine make gave me this recipe and now I am so excited to try it! They use it mostly to make vegan lasagna, so we want to try it in place of the crumbled tofu in our recipe Recipe #238046 to see how it tastes. From the cookbook, The Best of Silver Hills Delicious Vegetarian Cuisine. The recipe says its great served on baked potatoes, in lasagna, or with rye bread. Cooking time doesn't include time to chill.

A very healthy alternative to meatballs. I'm always looking for yummy vegan food and I'm especially looking forward to trying this one. Many of my favorite vegan recipes come from the Micheff Sisters, Brenda Walsh, Cinda Sanders and Linda Johnson, on 3ABN. This is one of Brenda's recipes. Suggestions: These walnut balls can be made ahead of time and frozen. Can also use them in other sauces such as spaghetti sauce. Try making them a little smaller and using them for an appetizer. For “crispier” texture, fry them in a little canola oil instead of baking them. UPDATE: We finally tried this and were not disappointed! Made this with my Quick Vegan Pesto Alfredo Sauce (Recipe #246616) and Onion Herb Foccacia Bread (Recipe #246431)and it tasted terrific! I could see how frying them in a little oil would make them taste better plain, but I couldn't tell that much of a difference with them in the sauce and it's so much healthier having them baked. I'm going to try to make these again this weekend with a vegan gravy and hope it turns out just as good! I've had it now with sweeet and sour sauce and it tasted really nice.

    Recipe #239125

This lasagna is low in fat and is much better for you than most lasagna recipes. This recipe started with the back of a lasagna noodle package recipe, but has been altered to a vegetarian or vegan recipe along with other alterations. Many of our friends (most of them not vegetarian or vegan!) request this dish from my husband for get-togethers or parties. It’s always gone in minutes. Many times we use fresh Asia Eggplant in place of spinach as it is in abundance here in Asia and in our opinion tastes better.

    Recipe #238046

Sounds so yummy! This recipe is from Neva & Jim Brackett's 7 Secrets Cookbook to lose weight, lower cholesterol, and reverse diabetes. Update: I tried this today and was really pleased with the results! I used it with recipe #161324 by Tigerduck and I couldn't tell it wasn't real sour cream. Of course you can tell its not the real thing when eating it plain, but it's still nice. Best alternative when mixing it with other ingredients you would use sour cream with though. I'm sure I'll get the same terrific results when I use it in a black bean soup I plan to make tomorrow.

    Recipe #247817

This is something I just put together today. I was craving something creamy, but wanted to keep it vegan and this is what I came up with. I got some of the ideas for the sauce from other recipes in the Micheff Sister's Cookbook. I think next time I will use this pasta mixture in a casserole baked with bread crumbs covering the top.

    Recipe #241451

I adapted this from a friend's recipe. My family requests this a lot for breakfast. Tastes great on toast or by itself. I LOVE avocado and find it tastes great sliced on toast with the scrambled tofu.

Don't tell them it's good for them, as well as low fat! Fast and yummy!
