For our 5 year olds lunch box for either snack time or lunch for his first year at kindergarten that are reasonably healthy but will bring a smile to his face when he finds them. Kids tire of the same old sandwich, so I came up with this as a new and fun way to make sure he doesn't skip his sandwich! I was surprised at how much lunch meat and cheese I was able to get in the muffin! If you child likes lettuce you could stuff some of that inside as well. You could actually fill the hole with just about any type of sandwich filling. :)
I made these for two picky young boys who stayed with us while their dad was in the hospital. It went over so well I had to make another batch! They are also a great item to store in the fridge for snacks or lunch boxes. Eat cold or heat for 30 seconds in a microwave. Hope yor picky eaters like them as much!
I had a recipe book for kids when I was young. I have since lost that book but I remember this recipe well as it was one of my favorites. For kids too young to use a knife they can just use a plastic apple corer and then stuff the toppings inside the apple.
Different way to prepare pork chops. Simple to make and can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. Recipe was developed by Linda Gassenheimer for the Miami Herald. I got it out of a local newspaper's food section. This sauce would probably be good with other meats such as ham, turkey, or chicken.
This is a great snack for the kids, and adults to munch on. I had my Cub Scouts make it at a den meeting, and they loved it. I got it from a children's cookbook I sent away for on a bag of Gold Medal flour, called Alpha-Bakery.
This a real oldie but goodie from a Pillsbury Bake Off Contest. I am shocked that it has not been posted before. All of my kids loved them because the marshmallow vanished during the baking and also because they were delicious.
A friend brought something similar to a get-together not long ago. I decided to see if I could make it without a recipe as when I asked her for her recipe, she told me she had purchased it.
Kids and adults both enjoyed it!
