You can enjoy the delicious taste of a cheeseburger without having to resort to fast food. These little appetizers are the perfect 'finger food' and can be frozen after baking. (cook time reflected is for two batches; add 15 minutes for each additional batch)
This recipe can be easily doubled. This freezes wonderfully and makes a great meal/snack to have on hand. You can also make these and eat them hot out of the oven.
This recipe was created for Ready, Set, Cook! #6
This recipe is from Super Suppers, the franchise that allows families to prepare meals ahead of time in their central kitchen. They do the prep, you do the assembly for quick dinners from the freezer. I love flank steak and this sweet/spicy combination appealed to me. The addition of pepper is mine and the way I like this dish.
Kids will love these homemade chicken nuggets. Served with oven-baked wedges and salad, they make an easy meal.
Notes & tips: These chicken bites freeze well. They can be frozen before or after cooking.
A great way to freeze garden corn. I use an electric knife to cut the corn off the cobs, and freeze the corn in vacuum bags, but a person could use freezer containers as well. Prep time includes cooling time.
DH loves this since it has intense flavor but not too hot for children. I adapted this recipe from the At Home with Family & friends cookbook from Cornerstone Television. Woody's restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA managed by the Antonelli brothers, make this recipe. Great served with crusty bread, rice, and a salad.
We adapted this to make it super easy for OAMC and freezing. The portions are for 2-3 servings each because it fits really well in a gallon ziploc bag. You could double it and it would probably still fit. Freezes very well. Plan to make two sets and you'll use up your packages of ingredients.
Updated to add: Works well in crockpot - cook on low 6-8 hours. I'm sure it would work great from frozen as well.
Also, I've used plain onion soup mix and the taste is still great.
The theory is you dump this in a bag and freeze to pull out later. There are many variations which I will post separately but it's amazingly easy to make these up and have a different "dump" chicken every week!
Looking for something to eat during the "big game?!" Here's an idea...and it doesn't have to be just for kids! Feel free to let your imagination go to vary the filling! Prep time includes chilling or freezing time...You probably would want to make these the day before serving. (also makes 1 loaf French bread)
