My mom is very creative. This is usually a recipe used in another Filipino dish, but she decided to use lettuce to wrap the filling. My mom is the best cook ever!

    Recipe #216506

This Filipino dish is a local favorite.

    Recipe #206117

I can't believe there's no recipe for Tinola on this site. it's a staple of Filipino cuisine, and it's basically a ginger chicken stewish soup. I've modified my mom's recipe to include only chicken breasts, as the original includes all sorts of chicken parts that I don't eat. As Filipino recipes are meant to be taste-tested at every step and tweaked to one's liking, these should only be general guidelines to help you perfect your own Tinola recipe.

    Recipe #207320

This is one of my favorite recipe to cook rice noodles. My family and friends really like it. I also served it when we had party at home and no left-overs.

    Recipe #206102

This variation of lumpia is the Shanghai version. When making these, make sure the filling is no thicker than your thumb, or the wrapper will cook faster than the meat.

    Recipe #206119

Haven't tried this yet. It was given to my by a Filipina I work with (she is an excellant cook!). Coconut milk and cream can be found in Asian markets. DO NOT USE sweetened coconut cream!

    Recipe #201772

My mom makes the best pork adobo, but I think my chicken version rivals hers! Don't tell her :)

    Recipe #202200

    Filipino tea--Zaar world tour.

    Recipe #172770

This is a variation of a popular Filipino dish called Bistek a la pobre. This is a mainstay in my family's weekly diner menu back home. The beauty of this recipe is that it is very flexible and you can make it any way you want it. My mom would sometimes make this with finely chopped carrots. I prefer adding chopped spring onions to the stir fried onion rings for garnish. Serve it with steamed rice.

    Recipe #198726

Comfort food Filipino style! This is one of my husband's favourite Filipino dishes. I make this in big batches because it freezes well, and it tastes better the longer you keep it. It can stay for up to 2 weeks in the freezer. This can also be cooked in a slow cooker like the usual slow cooker stew.

    Recipe #198730

The Filipino version of picadillo distinctly takes advantage of the broth (sabaw) to serve over rice. This aromatic soup is made with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, mixed vegetables, and lots of garlic. Serve alone or generously over rice.

Modified from VegWeb Eggless Wonton Wrapper recipe by aurorakitten for the Vegetarian Pot Stickers recipe here on zaar. Note This makes that recipe Vegan

    Recipe #197928

This recipe is for the Filipino Adobo, as opposed to the Mexican Adobo sauce. While the recipe calls for chicken, an equal amount of beef, pork or combination of the three works perfectly.
