    Fantasy Food

When I look through the masses of delicious recipes I have saved on here I find myself dreaming of a day when calories, cholesterol and ceoliacs are not an issue,,,yes I know ,,it's not gonna happen, but I can dream. But I have created a fantasy cookbook for if that beautiful day comes, I have even included some delicious gluten free recipes just because they are delicious despite being gluten free. As you can tell from the amount of recipes, I fantasize about food ALOT.

The joy of a good sausage is that fried, fatty quality and a strong mystery seasoning. Veggie sausages are tricky, but after years of trying I think this is a pretty good version. Any crumbly sharp cheese can be used as a sub for the lancashire.

    Recipe #239128

Easy, cheesy, savory spread to transform regular bread into a taste sensation! Goes awesome with pasta dishes or beside a fresh salad.

    Recipe #18914

Another one of Ina's delicious recipes!

    Recipe #281825

These make a great side dish for a meal or an appetizer for a party. The hard part about this recipe is not eating them while you're cooking. This is my spin on another recipe. The yield really does depend on how big you make the balls.

    Recipe #205880

This recipe can quite easily be made using ordinary short crust pastry, but if you decide to follow the recipe and make gluten free pastry,,,firstly,, well done you,,,and secondly gluten free pastry is notoriously short and crumbly. Rather than rolling out the dough and trying to mould it into the flan tins you can easily line the tins using a patchwork effect with the pastry, as long as there are no gaps for the filling to seep through, no one will know. Most prepared English Mustards contain gluten, however, English mustard powder doesn’t. So if you have difficulty finding a gluten free mustard the powder is fine, just make up to required amount following manufacturer’s instructions… Failing that Dijon is just as delicious in this dish and gluten free.

    Recipe #439061

This is my Mom's. So easy! A classic dip for family cocktail hour!

    Recipe #183917

I loved this when I ate out at a couple steak houses...I tried to replicate it and this is the closest I've got! My husband now begs me to make it more often now. :) This is normally 2 servings, but can be quite large. You can cut each breast in half to make 4 servings and still get the same results. Great with steamed broccoli (or broccoli and cheese) and baked potato with all the fixin's!

another version of the chicken lettuce wraps.

    Recipe #15865

After taking advantage of a sale of gluten free products at my local supermarket I was left with a mass of sausages and mixes, and looking for something other than "bangers and mash" I decided to search for inspiration. This recipe was inspired by"Fluffy's" meatloaf-50393, it was my first experience of meatloaf but it will definately be becoming a regular on the family menu.

    Recipe #435669

I love the tangy taste of pickled eggs, unfortunately I can no longer eat malt vinegar, and spirit vinegar is never as good. However, I found it’s the lemon zest in the vinegar that makes these eggs taste like they’ve been pickled in malt…You can use any pickling spice combination, but I prefer to use my own #438665 as it gives me the taste I remember of traditional pickled eggs.

    Recipe #438771

A simple supper or luncheon recipe that can be whipped up in a trice! Organic chicken breasts that are diced and then sautéed with fresh tarragon and crème fraiche with just a hint of lemon juice! This can be made in less than 15 minutes from prep to plate, making it an ideal recipe for busy bees or couch potatoes! I love this served with a simple selection of salad leaves and herbs dressed with a classic French dressing. Do try to use fresh tarragon, I have not tried this with dried, but imagine that it will not be as zingy and fresh. This is not necessarily a summer recipe, but my tarragon is in season at the moment, the sun is out and therein a recipe name was born! Bon appétit!

If you like lemon chicken this is heavenly. The recipe comes from Susan Branch's Heart of the Home cookbook. It is simple and has only a few ingredients. The results are soooooooo goooooooooooood and nice enough for a special occasion.

    Recipe #295459

We all know that fried chicken isn't healthy, but that doesn't stop me from salivating when I smell it frying it the grocery store's deli. As long as it isn't kosher, I don't think twice, but when it is, it takes all my self control not to buy it and eat it all in the car before I can even get home. Rather than let it destroy my health & my diet, I had to find an alternative. I was inspired by Susie Fishbein.

    Recipe #399518

I clipped this recipe from the January 2004 Bon Appetit, and just got around to trying it... we absolutely loved it and I can't wait to make it again. It's really a quick and easy weeknight supper, and it makes the kitchen smell luscious! Since this serves 12, I cut the recipe by 1/4 when I made it (and it fed two happy people), but I'll include the original measurements and serving size here.

This is another great way to make something great ahead of time to thaw as needed or eat right now with little effort!

    Recipe #79944

This is an outstanding recipe. When I found this I decided I didn't need to look for the perfect fried chicken recipe any more - I already had it.

    Recipe #39618

Quick and simple to make. A great way to add some variety to the childrens' diet. Great either with a salad, veges or made into a burger. This recipe is from Edgell's. To make this dish gluten free ensure your spices, chutney and curry powder are all labeled as gluten free. I found these to be crumbly so added an egg and flour for binding.

    Recipe #225264

Can be eating this in 30 minutes. Perfect served with peas and corn or a salad. You could even add the peas and corn to the dish. We used a store brought allready rotisserie chicken

    Recipe #243022

Almost everyone I know rants and raves about "Chicken Puffy Tacos!" The "puffy" part of the name comes from using fried flour tortillas instead of crispy corn or plain flour, but what makes these tacos irrestible is the meat. I personally love the meat in a folded and fried flour tortilla w/ cheese, guacomole, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. *I've also used simply 4-5lb of frozen chicken breasts for this recipe as well, but the whole chicken (with skin and bone) makes it much better.

    Recipe #388026

Chicken Kiev is one of those old favourites that everyone loves, especially the kids - this version is served with a smooth butter bean purée.
