This is meant to be eaten with plain white rice. No one ever believes me but as soon as they try it they are hooked. My DH loves it. Last time I was lazy and I made it with canned ingredients it was almost as good.
As fast as you can heat a can of veggies you can have this special side ready to serve! I hate canned green beans yet this is one veggie my dd will eat without complaint. This forced me to find a way to make us both happy. Hope you enjoy this one!
My friend Judy Montagu has a bi-weekly food column in the Jerusalem Post (weekend edition). She's always coming up with interesting recipes from all over the place (including Zaar). This recipe was featured in this week's column, and I know of at least 4 people who were so intrigued (myself included) that we had to try it out. It's really good. You wouldn't think it would be, but it is.
Typically we serve this spread with breadsticks or crackers. But for a delicious change, put a spoonful onto some thick grilled slices of sourdough bread, then top it with a squirt of lemon and a few grinds of pepper. The creamy, pale pink spread, melting into the crevices of the crunchy toast is irresistible.
I like this recipe cause it's all there - very simple instructions, and lots of interesting variations once you master the basic recipe. Truffles are wonderful confections to make at home - not difficult at all. From Food and Wine magazine. Rolling time not included.
This is the easiest to make and is absolutely YUMMY! It is very light and we love it on hot nights. It tastes like cherry topped cheese cake but is so much easier to make. It goes super fast at a potluck! Approx 15 minutes from start to finish!!
The only problem with Pink Perfection Juice #29571 by Mirj is that it disappeared way too quickly. It is awesome; we love it! However, throw a pineapple into the mix and what happens next is magic on the tastebuds.
I combined different spices to achieve what tastes almost as good, if not better than regular sausage. Be sure to use regular ground turkey (not ground turkey breast, which is too lean so it doesn't have enough moisture). UPDATE: After all the positive reviews, I decided to submit this to Taste of Home's Light & Tasty and they published it in the Dec/Jan 2008 issue. It's also in the Light & Tasty Annual Recipes 2008 Cookbook.
Delicious chicken dish for a nice, simple, light meal.
Note:This is one of the recipes I adopted in the Great 'Zaar Orphan Adoption of 2005. I hope you enjoy it.
Note: If desired, you can substitute approximately 12-16 chicken breast tenders (tenderloins) in lieu of the whole chicken breasts.
