This is from the August 2004 issue of Martha Stewart Living. These taste like a traditional bloody mary, but add a frosty chill that is great for hot summer days. You can adjust the seasonings to suit your tastes.

This is a refreshing Cuban drink. It's hard to stop drinking these on a hot summers day. I made these for the fourth of July and we went on to 3 yes 3 pitchers! If you don't have a muddle stick try a mortar and pestle or the end of a wooden rolling pin. Please use fresh lime if you cannot go ahead and try the already bottled lime juice but if you do think about that when you rate this recipe! I did both and there's nothing like fresh! Same goes for the fresh mint if you need to you can use frozen but I DON'T recommend extract. And for the sugar real granular is what helps muddles the lime and extract the mint oils from the leaves.

Obviously not real guinness but they look great on the table especially coming up to Paddys day. Cooking time includes setting.

I created this cocktail by accident, I happened to have the ingredients on hand. Be Careful, you cannot tast the liquor!

These are a fun adult party appetizer. I usually swipe some of the little "ketchup" cups from fast food restaurants to put these in so you don't have any clean up. Different flavors can be used besides the one listed, try blending for fun!

A classy, refreshing adult drink that is nice in the warm summertime.

August Lueders and Sons owned and operated a vineyard and winery in Frohna, established in 1868. Although Martha, Concord, Seedling, and Niagara grapes were grown, their famous product was "Martha Wine" and they had a customer list not only in Missouri but in many other states as well. The grapes were processed and the wine aged in 360 gallon wooden barrels called "hogsheads" in the basement under the large general store owned by Mr. Lueders. When sold, the wine was bottled in 5 gallon , jugs or in smaller sized long, narrow, dark glass bottles. When the Volstead Act was passed in 1918 the government permitted Mr. Lueders to sell his remaining supply for Communion purposes only. Here is the original recipe for this famous wine. Recipe from August Laueders from the cookbook "Heritage of Cooking" A Collection of Recipes from East Perry County, Missouri.
