    These yeasty rolls are great when you want dinner rolls and you are short on time.

    If you are a thin crust lover, then this is not for you, this recipe produces a thick, tender delicious crust. This is wonderful just brushed with olive oil then sprinkled with some kosher salt, garlic powder and the bit of shredded mozzeralla cheese on top and served warm just out of the oven with a plate of pasta, sooooo good! This recipe can be made either by hand or on your heavy-duty stand mixer, since there is a fair amount of dough to work with I stronly suggest to make this your stand mixer. For quicker rising use 1 tablespoon dry yeast.

    These rolls are initially baked for only 5 minutes, then cooled and frozen. Whenever you want fresh rolls, pull out amount needed and bake - no thawing necessary. They will taste as delicious as though you just made them. Great make aheads for company dinners.

    DH and I buy at least one loaf a week of ciabatta and eat it with olive oil. I finally decided to see it I could make a better bread than the brands we've tried from the store. We agreed that this is the best bread we've EVER had! The first loaf was gobbled before the second one came out of the oven! :) Can't wait to make it again!! Note: The dough will be VERY sticky - do not add more flour. The bread itself is not tall and fluffy. It has a wonderfully crisp, tender crust. It would be perfect for an Italian sandwich, if cut horizontally, of mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and s&p.

    This pie crust retains the flavor of an all butter crust, but is flakier because of the shortening. The lemon juice isn't in the recipe for lemon flavour... trust me you won't taste it, but rather to work with the flour and prevent the pastry from being tough. I also find that the dough gives a bigger yield than the original 9 inch size stated, I roll mine relatively thin and can get a full top and bottom for a 26 cm (12 inch) shallow pie dish.     This is a very simple and quick French Bread. It has a finer texture and more of a chewy crust than what you get from the bakery. I found this in an Bon Appetite years and years ago. I sometimes make rolls rather than loaves. With this coming together so quickly you can easily make large batches; with two students helping to shape the rolls I've made 6 batches, start to finish in under two hours. Prep time doesn't include rising time.

    This dough is great for making pizza pockets, hot sandwich pockets, fruit pies ("fritter") and whatever you can imagine. It doesn't take long to make if you have those little dough presses that make the crimped edges. This came from my efforts to make fritters for my husband like his mom used to make. Success!! :)The cook time will be different depending on filling, so it is an estimated time for fried pies. Cooking fillings for hot pockets will increase prep and cook time.
