    Recipe #55601

This favorite "pupu" (Hawaiian appetizer) is from the Hawaiian Electric Company's cookbook called A Taste To Remember. It is always a "hit" at potlucks and parties. Many folks use the bread for dipping, but I have seen just as many people fill a bowl and eat it with a spoon! It makes enough for an army (or NAVY!).

A dear friend gave me this recipe. Although she is not such a wonderful cook, this one passed the test and she is forced to bring it to any gatherings.

This is a filling I really needed in a hurry one day, long ago, and created it on the spot with available ingredients. It's an easy and quick substitute for more involved recipes. Just one caveat: use a high-quality chocolate. The first ingredient on the list of ingredients on your chocolate slab should read "cocoa butter" or "cocoa solids", not sugar!!! Sometimes it's worth spending on an imported slab!

Simple throw-together recipe, for which you really must have garden-fresh flat-leafed parsley. Use lime juice if possible, it's so tangy. Parsley is one of the most nutritious herbs, packed with antioxidants, but seldom used in quantity. I can eat this by the spoonful! This is a mild-tasting thick sauce, which improves in flavour if left at room temperature for a few hours. You might need less olive oil. Please taste the sauce and season to your taste. I find that despite the olives and capers it needs a good pinch of sea salt flakes. This pesto or puree will not overpower delicate tastes like fish. It's great with chicken, roast veggies, potatoes, or spread it thickly on toast and top with poached egg.

This is different and really delicious. Great for Fall parties.

This is from Ireland. Now I'm not sure when Ireland started making feta and ricotta cheeses but it's intro reads: "Cheeses made from sheep's milk are quite popular in Ireland, and this tasty concoction uses two - feta and ricotta. Whether your feta and ricotta come from the milk of sheep, cows, or goats, the mixture will be delicious."

I got this recipe out of a magazine, and just let me say...wow! It was delicious. It's easily doubled, as I did. And it's quick and a hit.

I got this from a dear friend of mine. Its so good I make a batch of it for myself and have it for dinner. It's always a huge hit!
