I believe all these recipes are diabetic friendly. If there is sugar, Splenda or other substitute sweeteners may be used. I'm not a diabetic, so if there is a recipe in here that shouldn't be, please let me know! Thanks!

From Paula's Best Dishes-Chillin Out. YUM.

    Recipe #493599

All the spices make this a special dish with delicious flavors! From Bal Arneson - The Spice Goddess on the cooking channel. The stew can be eaten alone or with rice and it tastes perfectly spiced both ways. The fresh roasted coriander and the addition of oranges makes this a surprisingly light stew compared to the heavier texture and feel of traditional Indian Rajma/Chhole dishes.

    Recipe #493539

Michael Simon says this dish is inspired by his mom, so of course it is Greek! Michael likes to leave the skin on the carrots because they really pick up the char well when the sugar in the carrots superheats in the pan. Dressing the carrots while they are hot allows them to soak up some of the vinaigrette. This works as an appetizer on it's own or as a side to roasted lamb or grilled fish. From the cookbook The Chew Food Life Fun.

    Recipe #492621

From the new cookbook The Chew Food Life Fun.Takes 30 minutes to cook and it's ready to eat!

    Recipe #491767

Full of protein and complex carbs and low in fat, just the thing for a warrior going into battle, or an average American returning from cooporate combat and looking for something quick and easy for dinner. Got this fromt the Chew cookbook, by Daphne Oz. Right up my alley!

    Recipe #491072

Delicious and so pretty to look at too! Served in the shell, this makes for a great light salad for parties, lunches, and at home! From Whole Living, January/February 2012.

    Recipe #481640

I watched this on Martha Bakes and it looked so good I am posting it for safekeeping. :) The bulgar has to be soaked for 30 minutes in boiled water and then cooled and the wheat berries have to be soaked overnight and cooked for 90 minutes and cooled. So, it takes some time in preparation to make the bread. But it is worth the extra effort.

    Recipe #479850

This has gotten lots of good reviews on foodnetwork. Recipe courtesy Melissa d'Arabian and from her show Ten Dollar Dinners, Episode: Footloose and Fancy-Free Falafel

    Recipe #478809

I watched Alton make this on The Best Thing I Ever Made. Posting here to make when it turns cooler. :) If you like, you can leave out the cheese to make this vegan.

    Recipe #478806

From Guy Fieri's Food cookbook, these are loaded with flavor. Three different kinds of beans give it lots of protein, served with a cilantro mayonnaise, you're gonna like these. Made as a tribute for Guy's sister, Morgan, he says she has become a fanatic for them. They have gone on the menu at Johnny Garlic's restaurant.

    Recipe #475753

Yummy shake using milk of your choice. Adapted from Whole Living.

    Recipe #475315

This really adds flavor to hummus, which is already good. Hummus is a staple food in some countries because it contains vitamin B, carbohydrates, and minerals. This recipe makes 2 cups. I usually half the amount just for me. Adapted from The Garden of Vegan cookbook by Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramer.

    Recipe #468465

Easily made vegan by using vegan mayonnaise! Delicious and versatile. You can use this as a marinade too. :) This came from Melody Prettyman. She does healthy cooking demonstrations all over the country and I saw her on a TV program on 3ABN.

    Recipe #467256

The roasted garlic adds a richness to the smoky heat of the chipotle peppers in this hearty(and yummy!) soup. It improves as the flavors delvelop, so go ahead and make it a day or two ahead! Adapted from Fields of Greens cookbook.

    Recipe #465196

This is from the show Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Episode: Chicken Tikka Masala. I posted this to go with the Masala Sauce(Bobby Flay), which I posted separately. I am trying to replicate a recipe I tried up in Conn. Enjoy!

    Recipe #464584

I visited a Whole Foods store in Conn. recently and tried their Masala rice and it was so good(the rice and the sauce were mixed together), I wanted to recreate the recipe at home. Not finding it in the Whole Foods site, I came across this recipe by Bobby Flay. The recipe for the Masala sauce came with the recipe for Basmati Pilaf with Peas, but I'm posting it separately. From Bobby Flay's Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Episode: Chicken Tikka Masala.

    Recipe #464583

Saw this on Hungry Girl on Food Network this morning, episode: Ginormous Food. A great way to cut those carbs!

    Recipe #464365

Yum! The original recipe used all wild rice. I have subbed some brown rice, or a blend of rices. Also the original recipe calls for barley miso, but you can use whatever miso you have on hand(I use either red or white), whichever one you use will give a different and yummy flavor. Enjoy! Adapted from a recipe from Whole Foods.

    Recipe #463396

I played with another recipe and liked it so much I am posting it for safekeeping. My son who doesn't eat fake cheese, devoured this! I hope you enjoy it too. Can be used for burritos, sandwiches, dip with chips, over rice or noodles, with mac and cheese, etc.

    Recipe #460586

As I venture more into vegan eating, I'm starting to use more quinoa and love the uniqueness of it! Here is a pretty and delicious salad, I hope you enjoy it. Adapted from The Vegan Chef.
