This is the best cake I have ever had. I fixed it for Thanksgiving last year when I went to a neighbors house for the day. I am going to her house Easter tomorrow and she asked me to make it again. I guess it was a hit.
It came from Southern Living Magazine October 2007
Chunks of chocolate cake mixed with chocolate ganache pressed into a springform pan, chilled, unmolded, and then coated with more ganache. To die for! The interesting way this cake is made is what drew my attention to it. I had to try it! I was not dissapointed!! A heart shaped insert for the springform pan will also make this a great Valentines dessert. I got this recipe from busycooks.about.com. Mmmm..
This is the frosting recipe that goes with the Fudge Cupcake recipe I uploaded. Will frost 18 cupcakes. You can also use those to frost a cake as well. If you have the time cool the cupcakes and cover them, let them sit for several hours before frosting them...it's makes them even better.
I have been making these for 25 years and they never fail to please! For the chocolate brownie, use ingredients listed on the back of the box of brownies. The original recipe came from a Duncan Hines cookbook.
This is the icing for the Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake recipe #45104. Don't have the golden syrup? Well if you must, you can try substituting it with 2 parts light corn syrup and 1 part molasses or equal parts of honey and light corn syrup.
This is a pleasant quick treat that is easy to make and tastes great. It's not elaborate and crazy amazing, but it's really tasty and simple. My hubby loves vanilla ice cream and he loves this treat. There really isn't anything not to love!
