The surprise is a chocolate egg baked inside the cupcake! Yum! These cupcakes are so pretty, especially when you ice them with pastel colors for Easter or Spring. I got this from an old Woman's World magazine.
I called this recipe "Easter Sunday Cheesecake" because that is when I first served it when a bunch of friends got together for Easter dinner after church. A delicious cheesecake recipe that is a bit different in that it's made in a 9x13 pan as opposed to the usual springform pan. For a little extra, I add a dash of cinnamon to the crust mixture....YUM! (Cook time includes time for cheesecake to cool overnight)
My grandmother gave me this apple pie recipe after she made it for me during a visit about 5 years ago. I like to use Granny Smith apples, leave the peel on, and cut slices that are a little thick, but do whatever you wish! This is a very good pie and I'm always asked to make it! Thanks, Grandma!! (Very good served with vanilla ice cream!)
This is the essence of elegance--simple, pure and clean tasting--a lovely sorbet for cleansing the palate between courses of an asian meal or for making Ming's fabulous Asian Banana Split, posted here on Zaar. Cooking time is chilling and freezing time.
This chocolate cake recipe always generates a buzz at family functions and often prompts many requests for the recipe. (The frosting is courtesy of Betty Crocker).
Note: If making a layer cake, please double the recipe. This also makes great cupcakes! Enjoy!
Fresh marinated peaches, whipped cream and brown sugar is broiled until the cream is bubbling and the brown sugar has melted and created a thin crust. Not an authentic crème brûlée, but it has all the elements. A fast dessert that tastes like heaven. From Lucy Waverman at Food and Drink.
I think this is a great caramel popcorn recipe, and I have tried quite a few! They were either too sticky or too sweet. This one is neither. The caramel dries well and doesn't stick to your fingers, and the sweetness is just right. I use spanish peanuts in this, but you could use other kinds of nuts, too. Here I was searching for the perfect caramel corn recipe, when all the while it was right in my recipe box! This is done in the microwave, and is very simple to make.
