Braising the pork makes this very tender. Recipe is from Sunset Magazine Feb. 2008. Also includes directions for crockpot.

    Recipe #282015

Tender, fall-off-the-bone chicken! Skip the overnight refrigeration if you are in a hurry. For variety, eliminate the onion and substitute a quartered lemon or two, stuffed into the chicken cavity. Chef Shapeweaver had a good suggestion: Use Fajita Seasoning Mix #28011 as another variation. Thanks! The standard size slow cookers are a bit too small and a whole chicken won't fit. You'll need a 6-quart slow cooker for this recipe.

    Recipe #33671

This great Cheat's recipe has all the elements of a traditional French Cassoulet - assorted meats, beans, carrots, tomatoes, wine & tomatoes - but is very easy & does not include Confit d'Canard if you find that difficult to obtain. However, you need to get hold of high meat content sausages to give it a more authentic taste. I have given a few variations at the bottom of the recipe; this recipe works extremely well in a Crock pot as well as the more traditional Le Creuset casserole dishes. French comfort food at it's best! Serve with mashed potatoes & crisp Savoy Cabbage. This recipe can be easily doubled for bigger or hungry crowds of diners! NOTE on BEANS: I use tinned/canned beans or pre-soaked and cooked beans in this recipe; for uncooked beans, you will need to soak them overnight and then boil them; then increase the cooking time by about 15 minutes. This was posted as a "Cheat's" recipe, meaning cutting a few corners if you don't have time - i.e. use tinned beans!! P.S. I have a sausage recipe posted: Recipe #190045 that would work well with this recipe.

    Recipe #200864

This recipe is my own creation, hearty and rustic, my favorite kind of meal. My husband and I think it's quite tasty! Try to use a good quality smoked sausage since the stew gets most of its flavor from it.

    Recipe #344155

For this recipe I use frozen chicken tenders or chicken breasts (yes, frozen) in my slow cooker. This is a good recipe to substitute beans, veggies, etc. and make it the way you want. This will make 10 "healthy" servings (thats 1/2 a chicken breast) so judge your servings on your families appitite.

    Recipe #319534

I love my slow cooker, and I love to make pot roasts. There are so many variations, and I think I've tried them all. However, this is one I really like, and return to again and again. I like to serve this with some garlic mashed potatoes for a fully flavorful meal.

An easy soup that fills the house with a great aroma while cooking. It can also be frozen.

    Recipe #190734

This can be made in the crock pot or just a big pot on the stove. I've been making this for a couple of years now. And every time I make it, I barely get any of it before it dissapears. Now, keep in mind that the measurements are approximate, I never measure. I usually just tear up a whole cooked chicken so I really have no idea how much is actually in there. It's a combination of three different recipes including Rita L's "#55786 Crock-Pot Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with Shrimp" and Just Married's "#47656 Louisiana Chicken and Sausage Gumbo(The Real Stuff)". The last recipe, and those of you from the Chicago area may know this one, is from Jimmy Bano's Heaven on Seven cookbook. Everyone who returns from Heaven says "Try the Gumbo".

This is a variation of an old favorite, cranberry chicken...adding the barbecue sauce adds a little zest!

    Recipe #20600

Amazing flavor, and so simple! No salt needed here. In fact, you may wish to use half the ranch dressing mix to cut back on the saltiness. Found this Crock-Pot pot roast recipe on of a website called www.recipegoldmine.com. It's all the rage there, so I thought I'd try it.

    Recipe #27208

Easy chicken in wine. A nice easy meal when you are gone all day.

French hearty dish; you will bring France to your home. This is a recipe from my sister in law Rachel that I tweaked a bit and converted to the slow cooker. Serve with mashed potatoes. I don't kow what Julia would say about this version' but I know it is good.

Heres a caraway flavored pork roast served with a sour cream gravy. Use your crock pot and it will be an easy supper. Very good with Bavarian style sauerkraut.

    Recipe #199336

A delicious & heady combination of good red wine, prime beef, smoked bacon, dried orange, shallots, garlic & cepes - dried forest mushrooms! A traditional French recipe with a twist - cook it in the crock pot for ease and convenience. Wonderful in the depths of winter, but equally lovely with crisp salads, crusty bread & baked potatoes during the summer - the addition of orange making it a lighter beef dish than the more usual Beef Daube or Beef Burgundy. An excellent choice for a family reunion or celebration, as it is VERY well behaved! It also freezes well and is a great pie filling idea.

My favorite way to use my crock pot is to make shredded beef sandwiches and this one is delicious. Recipe source: Sunset (January 2006)

    Recipe #163720

A wonderful roast with a very tasty gravy

    Recipe #83268

This is a fantastic crockpot recipe! Found it on the internet years ago and have modified it some. The chicken is so tender, it falls apart, and it makes incredible gravy. It's my most requested recipe and our favorite meal. My daugters (ages 4 and 1) love it too! We eat it with a side of vegetable and sometimes with Texas toast.

This is a easy to prepare, flavorful and very tender pepper steak. Serve over rice or egg noodles. If you like your green pepper crisp, add to crock pot the last couple hours of cooking time. This is an adapted recipe from Allrecipes.

    Recipe #211958

I came up with this one this afternoon. I had planned on making a recipe I found here on Zaar, but I was missing a few ingredients and the gravy didn't taste quite like I'd expected it to, so I changed a few things and this was the end result.

    Recipe #120349

Oh, yum! This is just too easy. I got this recipe out of The Everyday Low-Carb Slow-Cooker Cookbook.
