I found this recipe online somewhere and I cannot find it again. I am glad I wrote it down when I found it! This recipe is simple to throw together and it tastes sooo good over some steamed rice. My family loved it! This recipe is pretty versitle too...I am sure plenty of spices and herbs could be added to it..maybe even some onion and garlic. Play with it and enjoy!
Amazing flavor, and so simple! No salt needed here. In fact, you may wish to use half the ranch dressing mix to cut back on the saltiness. Found this Crock-Pot pot roast recipe on of a website called www.recipegoldmine.com. It's all the rage there, so I thought I'd try it.
This hearty soup is just bursting with savory flavor - which is surprising considering how easy it is to make!
I make it in the morning and then cool it and put it in the frig until about 30 minutes before dinner. While I'm warming the soup up, I cook my noodles.
My husband's great aunt make this for him all the time growing up. She used a pressure cooker and chicken legs in the original recipe but we have found we like the beef better. And since I don't own a pressure cooker, I converted it for use in the crock pot. Even the kids love this vegetable soup. Especially when I serve it with homemade whole-wheat bread (#94990).
Response to reviewer: The sugar is to keep the soup from being too salty. If you are using salt-free vegetables I would agree that you need to cut back on the sugar.
I made this for a wedding and got phenomenal feedback! Everyone absolutely loved it and so did I.. I am sure you will have great results when you make this for your family and friends. This recipe is cooked over night in a slow cooker and tastes great!
