I make these for DH and friends for Football Sunday's. They love them. They are very easy to make and everybody can help themselves and add their own condiments. Serve with chips and plenty of cold beer! They are sure to disappear! I leave the green peppers out since I hate them! This is a great recipe to take to a potluck and can easily be doubled.
This is a delicious crock pot recipe that I found on this site, but adapted it to my own tastes. It smells great while it is cooking! After cooking it for 3 hours, I took out the chicken and placed it in a serving dish, then took the sauce and added cornstarch to make it thicker. The sauce was then used to pour over the chicken or the rice. Some other ideas I have, which I would like to try sometime, would be to cut up the chicken into strips and then add stir-fry veggies to the chicken and sauce. This would be like a stir-fry! (one that would take a while though) Who knows, maybe we will try it sometime!
I don't even like Pork, but was tricked into tasting this dish when I was told it was chicken. WOW! The meat was sooo tender and juicy; so tender in fact, that it was literally falling apart! It was like nothing I'd ever tasted before! Definitely not like my mother's hard, crusty pork chops! lol! This recipes goes hand in hand w/ some mashed potatoes. Just pour the leftover gravy on the taters' and enjoy!
