This is based on a recipe I saw in Chatelaine magazine. It is hands-down the best slow cooker recipe EVER! It's great served over mashed potatoes, but my favourite way to serve it is in kaiser buns, with the yummy shredded beef piled high on top. I put out toppings like arugula or lettuce, horseradish, mayonnaise, and sliced dill pickles, and let people fix their own bun the way they like it. Make sure to drizzle some of the wonderful sauce on each bun too, and also some of the onions too. Sooooo good!

Easy, Easy, Easy...T hat's what this is. Put ingredients in crock pot the night before. Upon serving, add more brown sugar to taste.

I love stuffing and have always been disappointed that there is just never enough of it. This makes a large quantity and tastes delicious. Handy too because you can serve it right from the crock pot insert. You could also add mushrooms or apples to this recipe.

Here's a lower fat variation on the theme of pulled pork, a barbecue favorite from the South. If you like intensely smoky flavour, increase the quantity of the liquid smoke, but be careful--a little goes a long way. Serve this between hot split onion or Kaiser buns, accompanied by a bowl of coleslaw for a "down home" dinner that all will enjoy.

This is a chowder that uses ingredients that I almost always have on hand, so it is quick and easy to throw together before work, and come home to on a nice fall evening. Relatively easy to double as well for extra large families or get togethers.

Using plain sun dried tomatoes, not those packed in oil, reduces the fat in this dish. The tomatoes will soften in the cooking liquid.

This originally called for 2 cans of black beans, but my kids aren't huge fans of black beans so I changed it for them. You can assemble this in advance and put it in the crock stoneware in the fridge overnight.

This is out of Weight Watchers "Best Eats" cook book. I haven't tried it but this sounds good for being low calorie, low fat.

I haven't tried this yet, but I hope to soon. Enjoy!!

My favorite recipe for burrito meat. From the cookbook "Don't Panic-Dinner's in the Freezer". If you have a large crockpot, you can double or triple the recipe and freeze the meat for later. The recipe calls for vegetable oil, but I never add it. It's very easy to make, no browning required.

From Good Housekeeping magazine. I am cooking it right now, so I haven't tried it, but it sounds so good! I substituted chicken breasts for the thighs and 1/2 tsp of chipotles in adobo for the paprika.

CREAMY GOODNESS! Easy to prepare and cooks while you work or shop! My DH loves this dish and particularly the sour cream flavor which is added just prior to serving. MAKES A GOOD GRAVY for potatoes or rice.

I can't remember where I got this recipe, but it's really easy and really good. I serve it with soupy pinto beans for "make your own burritos." Serve with recipe #182188

This taco filling is a healthier alternative to the meat version. I found this recipe on a “runners” message board where the posters were raving how much this tasted as good as a meat filling. I actually like it better than the fillings made with ground beef. It tastes great in taco shells on taco salads and anywhere you’d normally use a meat taco filling.

This is my version of Brats and Sauerkraut. The slow cooker makes it very easy to throw together on the morning and then get all my errands done on a weekend day without having to worry about making time to cook a delicious dinner for the family. All the ingredients could be prepped the night before to make it even easier to throw it together in the morning. I used 2 slices of green pepper, 2 slices of red bell pepper and 2 slices of yellow bell pepper rather than using all one color because I had them on hand after having leftover toppings from homemade pizza night, and I thought the different colors would give the meal more visual appeal. I used to hate sauerkraut as a kid, but my mother never rinsed it, which made it taste very sour. I find that rinsing the kraut takes away some of the sourness but still leaves a lot flavor. Italian sausage can be substituted for the brats.

The one and only way I prepare Corned Beef. The glaze makes a yummy topping and this will melt in your mouth! I am ALWAYS asked for this recipe, usually by friends that don't like corned beef.
