I originally submitted this without trying it, as it was in response to a request. I finally got around to trying it last week, and realized there was a mistake, as the ingredients in the cake part should have read: 8 tablespoons butter, melted. Also, you can't "pour" the cake into the pan it has to be patted into the pan like a pie crust. Anyway, here is the revised version. I also cut down on the sugar, using about 12 ounces or 3/4 of the box. This is awesome-a Paula Deen classic!

Except for the the milk and small amount in the egg, the cake itself has very little fat and using low-fat milk will keep the fat to a minimum, I have stated the egg as optional, I strongly suggest to add it in for a more cake-like texture -- If you are looking for a fancy cake to serve then this is not it however for the ease of this cake it is darn good and makes a great weekend brunch cake, it's like a combination of a cake and cinnamon bun all in one, ridiculously simple to make as it's all mixed by hand and takes like 5 minutes to throw together, try adding in some chopped strawberries, apples or blueberries, raisins or dried cranberries, this recipe is a blank canvas, so go ahead and add in fruit, nuts chocolate chips whatever you wish, and to kick this up a notch drizzle recipe#120835 on top :) --- servings are only estimated

This is really a great recipe! It is fast, simple and you usually have the ingredients on hand. I never use a mix! I got this from my sister years ago, and I have shared it many times.

Fresh Cherries dipped in chocolate and pistachio nuts how delicious. This can hardly be called a recipe only 3 ingredients. These look lovely served in a big glass bowl in the centre of the table. You can also use other nuts or 100's & 1000's or try strawberries for a nice change. Cooking time is chilling/setting time

    Recipe #104373

This is habit-forming, it is soooo good and so simple to make, you can also use unskinned almonds or use whatever nut you desire --- you may also add 1/3 cup molasses for a stronger caramel flavor :)

This is a recipe from Kurma Das, the world best vegetarian cook. I can vouch for this dessert, it is TO DIE FOR. To many aficionados of Hare Krishna cooking worldwide, halava rates on top of the list of their favourite dishes. It's hot, buttery, sweet, flavoursome and completely satisfying, especially on a cold winter's day. In this recipe, the humble semolina teams up with the world's two most expensive spices - saffron and cardamom. Enriched with sultanas and flaked almonds, serve fluffy, plump grained halava hot with cream, custard, or as is for an epicurian experience.

This is the closest thing I have found to the gooey butter cake my grandmother made. It has basic ingredients and is really simple to make. If you're worried about calories or fat grams this ones probably not for you. But if you're not, this is oh-so-gooey.

This is an ooey gooey delight straight from St.Louis Missouri.

Excellent vinegar, eggless moist chocolate cake made in a cakepan. Sounds awful with vinegar, however "best cake" response from friends.

These are delicious muffins with a unique ingredient... crystallized ginger! They're perfect on a crisp Autumn morning, or anytime for that matter. They're also dairy-free and low-fat! The recipe is from Mags2003 on the IBS message boards at www.helpforibs.com.

You can use a jar baby food beets, canned beets in water that you pureed (NOT pickled) or roast your own beets then puree. You will be very surprised at how good this is. In taste and for your health. Beets are high in carbohydrates and low in fat. Containing phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, as well as fiber, vitamins A and C, niacin, folic acid, and biotin.

This is always a huge success, no matter when I serve it. Kids and adults alike love it. Very addictive!

My Dad used to make "fried dough" or "Polish Doughnuts" (we are part Polish) for us on occasion, using Pizza dough. I recently started experimenting with my son and I think I have PERFECTED the "art". Thanks Dad!

These are so easy to make and taste like a Eat More candy bar. I make them often and they are always on my Christmas dainty tray. Need to take a dainty to the office? This would be the one.I'm sure these could be made using a micowave, I have just always used the stove--- not sure why.

    Recipe #103184

I got this recipe from a family member who brought it to every gathering...with good reason...it's so good! I made it once and took it to work. It was gone within 2 hours. I had to start making it a double batch just so everyone could have some. It is so easy, and so quick. It's a great last minute dish to take.
