    These nuts are addictive!!! Serve as a delicious snack, super-easy appetizer (great on a Ritz cracker with whipped cream cheese), topping for salads (see my Waldorf Salad recipe #117914) or in candied sweet potatoes. And, they make the perfect hostess gift especially during the Holiday Season! I make a double batch before Thanksgiving and freeze in ziplock bags for use at Christmas and New Years. The kick is up to you, as they are really very mild as written (we think they are perfect this way). Recipe was given to me by my sister, originally from Bon Appetit.

    Ricciarelli are wonderful intense flavor almond cookies that originated in the town of Siena, Italy. Very popular year 'round, but especially at Christmas time! I like to add a spoonful of rum or orange zest to the dough, for variation. You can also use lemon, brandy or Amaretto. Dip the baked ricciarelli in melted chocolate, if desired.     A perfectly decadent dark chocolate truffle brownie--perfect for Valentine's Day or other romantic occasion like anniversaries, -or- just because!. Tip: to take these brownies seriously over the top, lay a heart shaped stencil over each portion (before cutting), and sift powdered sugar over the top. Remove stencil, and oooh-la-la! Serve with hot fudge sauce or fresh raspberries and whipped cream, if desired.
