    Jo Mama's World Famous Spaghetti
    Handle

My kids will give up a steak dinner for this spaghetti. It is a recipe I have been perfecting for years and it is so good (if I may humbly say) that my kids are disappointed when they eat spaghetti anywhere else but home! In fact they tell me I should open a restaurant and serve only this spaghetti and garlic bread. In response to requests, I have posted the recipe for Recipe #28559 that uses approximately 1/2 of the sauce from this recipe. Have spaghetti one night and lasagna later! Thanks to all of you who have tried my recipe and have written a review. I read and appreciate every one of them! Chef Note: After I posted this recipe I remembered a funny incident--my dear husband usually has a nice bottle of wine handy so when I make a batch of spaghetti I just help myself to a splash of it. On one occasion, there wasn't a bottle opened, but there was a bottle sitting on the counter so I got out the corkscrew and helped myself. For some reason, the spaghetti that night was the best ever. My husband asked what wine I put in it and I showed him the bottle. He nearly fell off the chair. I had opened a rather expensive bottle he had bought to give his boss. Goes to show you--don't use a wine for cooking you wouldn't drink. You get the best results from a good wine!

    Luscious Lemon-Raspberry Bars
    Handle

Found this recipe on the box of the Betty Crocker Lemon Bars. The lemon bars by themselves are great, but add the raspberry preserves and you have a real treat. Lemon bar mix is not a recognized ingredient on this site, but that is what you'll need for the recipe. It can be found with the cake mixes in the grocery store.

"This must be one of the best cookies I have ever eaten!' AKA Snickerdoodles
    Handle

Yep, thats what my mother said the first time I ever made this cookie. It is a GREAT cookie recipe, and not difficult to make at all. I tripled the recipe and took it to school to sell... I sold all of them with in an 80 minute time span to only 4 people. They are good cookies, I can't resist them whenever I make them. And they turn out so nice whenever you bake them, it's hard to make an ugly Snickerdoodle. lol. Enjoy. (prep time is estimated)

Back in the 80's my girlfriend had just had her first baby and invited me over and made these cookies, this is the first time I had ever tasted snickerdoodles. The next day, remembering how good they were, I called her for the recipe. Have been making them ever since. I like to double this recipe, because at my house these only last a few hours.

    Lemon Drop Wafers
    Handle

The addition of crushed lemon-drops adds a light crunch that makes this cookie distinct from most lemon cookies. The result is like a crackle cookie withe chewy bits of tart lemon chips. My family has a long standing tradition of baking cookies for a growing list of family and friends. Baking begins the day after Thanksgiving (while most folks are shopping) and continues right up to Christmas Eve. This recipe comes from a cookbook given to me by my my dear friend Rita L. If properly stored , the cookies keep for two weeks making it well suited for cookie trays. Preparation time uncludes 30 minutes to freeze dough. Please note that because of the candy in the dough, these are very hot and sticky on first removing from the oven. Please take caution.
