    This salsa is similar to one at the local restaurant we used to frequent when we lived in Georgia. I went home and experimented to try to come up with one that tasted like the restaurant's and this is what I came up with. If you like your salsa even hotter you can adjust the hot seasonings to your taste. I always get lots of compliments when I serve this. Don't let all the ingredients scare you's really easy to make. No accurate time on prep and actually the longer you let it simmer the better it is. I don't know how many exact servings you get but it does make alot. (The flavor will be more intense if you use the fresh herbs but its just as tasty with the dried)

    Until about a year ago I never heard of Hummus, but my daughter Paula was with me one day at an oriental food store in Carbondale and she bought a jar that was already made. I asked what it was. When she told me, I decided it probably could be made much cheaper than she bought it for, so I went to looking and experimenting. I bought tahini to make it with and it was VERY expensive. I made it by a recipe I found on the net and when I knew what it was supposed to taste like I experimented some more till I did not have to have tahini--as it is made in this recipe. Anyway, this is the final experiment she likes best.

    Sazon is a common seasoning used in Caribbean cooking and also in Spain. Try this homemade version! Two reviewers have told me this is actually a sofrito, that sazon is a dry mix.     I have not tried this recipe yet, but I intend to soon. According to the article, that came with the recipe in this morning's local newspaper, these gnocchi are light as a feather. The recipe comes from a former fine dining establishment in our area that we used to go to very often and the food was outstanding! I am guessing at the prep and cook times.
