This is JUST the drink for those winter-time holidays (Advent, caroling parties, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day). Pleasantly flavored and easy to adjust to your special tastes!

Posting for ZWT 5 as we zip through Spain so might as well make this educational AND entertaining: Coffee was once believed to cure consumption, dropsy, gout, and smallpox; AND--get this!--when mixed with milk--as in this recipe--coffee was believed to be a CAUSE of leprosy! Oh, no! I think we've proved through many years of not-so-scientific daily coffee-drinking that this is not true. Enjoy a cup and rest assured, you will not be leaving any body parts behind when you've sipped the last drop! ("Cooking Up World History" by Marden & Barchers)

Breakfast will NEVER be the same once you've tried these little gems! Excellent as leftovers the next morning, too, with a dab of butter. The original recipe came from a Reiman publication (Taste of Home?), but I'm never happy leaving a recipe as-is, gotta do my own thing.

Do your part to "save energy"! Make some passive solar-brewed iced tea. Mix-n-match your flavors according to your own taste buds!

Definitely something the girls will love on a warm summer afternoon, sitting in the lawn chairs in dappled shade--watching the grass grow! Switch out the juice for a different flavor and have some variety! *Taste of Home* does it again!! (note: cooking time is "chilling" time)

    Recipe #284775

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water! Hahah. Just kidding. I'm always on the look-out for recipes using raspberries (we have a BIG patch) AND chocolate (I have a craving!). This one MORE than fits the bill because it ALSO has cream cheese. COOK time includes SOME of the chilling time...plan accordingly.

This is the first one sold out when our 4-H club hosts a concession stand for the annual rabbit-breeders' show every June. Thick and gooey and very filling.

Don't be put off by the long list of ingredients and thing at a time. Well-worth the effort, you'll reap garlands of praise for this one. HINT: Buy one 8-oz pkg cream cheese and divide as needed. YOO-HOO: Cooking time does NOT include cooling and chilling time--plan accordingly. :-)

While stationed at Offutt AFB near Omaha, Nebraska and living in the barracks back in the late 70's, inevitably someone in the lounge on a Friday or Saturday evening would say, "Who wants to make a run to Goodrich Dairy?" We'd scramble for our shoes and our wallets, and off we'd go. My friend Sharon got me hooked on these malts, and whenever I have one, I'm reminded of the fun we had together: cruising the base-gates & seeing which L.E's were working or those Saturday evenings when we'd get all gussied up & head over to The cHEETah to do some dancing or when we were really bored & go cruising 73/75 & waving to guys in hot muscle cars. Here's to you, Sharon My Friend!

    Recipe #263372

Don't wait for a special occasion to make these little darlings; make something up if you must have a "reason" for making a mess! Whatever you have on hand--dip it!--cookies, candies, fruit (fresh/dried), crackers, brownies, chips, pretzels.

Over-ripe bananas lend flavor and moisture to these lovely breakfast muffins while the mini-chocolate chips sprinkled across the top entice the most bleary-eyed slow-poke into fully waking up! Assemble dry ingredients the night before, to speed up the process in the morning. *My dad used to wake my five brothers and me up by hollering up the stairs every morning, "Daylight in the swamp!" OR "The swampsoggins are out!"....we never did see a swampsoggin!!!*

Time saving tip: Gather a hand-ful of quart-size zipper bags. Haul out the dry ingredients and measure & sift into bags. Label bag "Pancake Mix" and store in a cool, dark cabinet. At meal-time, combine one bag with wet ingredients. Make up a bunch of bags at once, breakfast will come together that much quicker! The original for this recipe came in the box with a blender we received as a wedding present back in 1978. I've tweaked it into solid breakfast perfection!

Seasonal favorite great for dessert OR even breakfast! Use canned pumpkin or better yet, bake a halved pumpkin, scoop out the meat and mash well. Mmmmm!

As soon as these cookies come out of the oven, pour a glass of ice-cold milk, and give yourself permission to eat a couple. The anti-oxidants in the double dose of chocolate will be good for you! If you leave these in the oven too long--no problem, call them "Crispy Choco Chocolate Chip Cookies." No one will complain!

Another great treat to have along on a l-o-n-g car trip between Wisconsin and Montana. We make this one and Recipe #216744. One gets packed away to be used on the return trip, the other is used right away. Also great for after-school snacks, skiing or hiking excursions, and for "party mix."

Swim team and 4-H club fund-raisers wouldn't be the same without THESE bars on hand. Cut them B-I-G and let the kids enjoy themselves!
