My friends always ask me to make them my Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani) when I invite them over for dinner! It's *SO* good that I have stopped ordering it at Indian Restaurants!
I use a few drops of liquid smoke to give it a 'tandoori' flavour, and don't skip the dried fenugreek leaves. They are what make it taste as though it's from your favourite curry house!
UPDATE: One individual has complained that there is excess chili powder in this recipe.
It may be that North American chili powder has less heat? Certainly do not omit this ingredient. I used the usual 'chili powder' found at North American grocery stores, the generic type often used in Chili Con Carne.
(I hope this clarifies any confusion!)
This white chicken chili recipe is adapted from a Betty Crocker slow cooker recipes cookbook. I often use frozen chicken breasts, and it can also be prepared conventionally on the stove top. Great comfort food!
I found this recipe on a low-carb site, (DH is doing a low-carb diet). I modified it some and DH says the name is very appropriate. He craves this so I end up making it once or twice a week. Good thing it is easy!
This is the perfect recipe for any family mid-week supper, as well as for a weekend gathering with friends and a bottle of red wine! Especially as whilst the dish is cooking, you can sit down and enjoy the company of your friends, and family. Any leftovers can be reheated the next day and UI have also frozen this too, with great results.
It's easy and an authentic classic
This recipe was given to me by duonyte in paragraph form when she responded to my question about cooking chicken livers. All I did was put her info in the form of a recipe, .
Harissa, a spicy North African red chile paste (you can find recipes here on Food) is a great shortcut ingredient to flavor, but no two jars (or tubes) are the same. Taste first—if it seems very spicy, use a bit less. You can always stir more into the chickpeas when the dish is finished. Harissa, is available at Middle Eastern markets, some specialty foods stores, and online if you choose not to make your own.
These are easy but very full of flavor. I also prefer to use turkey for this, but if you are a die hard "beef fan" go ahead and use beef. The burger is moist and delicious and the cheese, avocado and mayonnaise just make this a wonderful burger.
Very easy and delicious one-pot-meal. May substitute chicken with other meat e.g. pork/beef. Stirring is important, to achieve smooth congee. NOTE: Usually when cooking congee with electric rice cooker, i need to click it 'on' a few times after it switched off (automatically) because congee has to simmer for some time to be smooth.
This really tastes like restaurant greek chicken we get here in the Chicago area. Moist chicken, lots of flavorful sauce. Start with frozen chicken breasts and a few ingredients you have in your pantry, end up with lots of compliments. No browning the chicken, just plop it in, set it and go.
