This is a natural cleaning method to make your cutlery and sink shine. I had terrible black streaks on my cutlery and discovered this simple solution that works with things we keep in the home.

    Essential for serious cleaning.

    Recipe #93097

I have not personally had to try this YET, but understand this works better than tomato juice for neutralizing the skunk solution. Use this first, as it won't work if you have already bathed the dog with something else.

An ecologically sound alternative to SoftScrub. I found this recipe in a booklet of eco-friendly housekeeping and gardening put out by my municipality.

How to clean the Yuck from your washer. This was just posted in today's Heloise hints.I just got done using it & it got rid of all the gummed up liquid fabric softener under the agitator. Makes it smell fresh & clean too!

    Recipe #184171

A while back I saw a program where a textile conservator discussed taking the stains that come from age, along with tough stains out of any fabric. Sure she demonstrated it and it worked incredibly, but would it work THAT WELL when I tried it on my own? Probably not. BUT IT DID. It was phenomenal. A friend and I collect vintage G.I. Joe dolls and it took a 20+ year old magic marker stain completely out of a light colored garment. That's when I was sold. My sister kept a covered bucket of this mixture next to my neice's changing table when she was a baby. Parents know how difficult formula, milk and baby food stains are to get out. This works wonders.

Highly effective! This recipe was shared with me yesterday by my neighbor, Kathrine. I had to ask her what she put on the weeds at the corner of her lot that adjoins my garden because although her weeds had turned brown and died, so did a large patch of my green grass. That's when she shared this recipe, and let me tell you....IT WORKS! Recipe can be doubled or tripled easily.

Is your laundry looking dingy? Are you seeing spots before your eyes? To keep your washer spotlessly clean, it is important to remember to give it a once over every six months, or every three months if you have hard water. Is your Dish Washer dingy? This is cheap, easy and fun! Use your imagination when applying this, and create something unique. I've used paper towels with swirling motions, up and down strokes etc. Next time I think I'm going to use a small paint brush and some stencils.

    Recipe #109621

Detergent for the dishwasher is SO expensive. I searched the net for a home-made alternative and developed this simple recipe. We've been using it for a while now and it washes the dishes even better than the shop bought variety. The amount needed will depend on how soft your water is - we find 1 tablespoon is enough, but we're on tank water. You might need 2 tablespoons if you're on hard town water. Instead of Rinse Aid, we just use white vinegar.
