This is the best salsa recipe I've found so far and I've tried about a dozen. I got it from one of the local hospital cookbooks that are sold in my area. I changed it a bit and have been canning it for years. The reason I plant a garden is for this salsa. We would be lost without it. Hope you like it as much as we do. One of our members who is a food scientist took this salsa to work, tested the pH and found it measured under 4.0 (well within the safety limit for boiling water bath processing).

I got this years ago from the lady in our church who canned it. I've never made it but I've eaten lots of it! It's the best salsa I have ever had. Especially good with lime tortilla chips or on taco salad (recipe #102234).

From Top Secret Recipes www.topsecretrecipes.com. Posted in response to a request, this recipe is supposed to be a copycat for the sauce served on Sabrett hog dogs, one of the more popular street hot dogs in New York.

Pico de Gallo translates to "rooster's beak" in English (when you dip tortilla chips into it, your thumb and forefinger loosely resemble a pecking chicken). Didn't you always wonder where the name came from?

    Recipe #33861

A recipe given to me by a friend many years ago. I used to make it as a condiment for curries, but now prefer it with meat loaf, cold meats or on sandwiches.

Yeah Mon! This cool and refreshing fruit salsa is a perfect side accompaniment for tempering the heat of your favorite grilled jerk seasoned meat. Cooking time is the time to chill. Submitted for RSC #8.

For those who like things a little hot on Thanksgiving.

    Recipe #14258

My friend Val shared this recipe with me last year. It is a new favorite, and one that I plan on taking many places over the holiday season, as it is different. Best served with Wheat Thins, this salsa is yummy and a must try! The original recipe called for a 1 pound package of cranberries; I've found that fresh cranberries are now packaged in 12 oz. portions, and this size works. Don't forget to allow time for chilling, to allow flavors to develop...This will make enough for 2 blocks of cream cheese, so you have 1 to serve, and 1 to share!

I found this recipe in a circular a long time ago and have adapted it over time. Can’t remember which part of it is part of the original and what parts are my additions. This is a quick and easy side that perks up a basic grilled chicken breast or as a companion to tortilla chips. Sometimes I will top a bed of greens with leftover grilled chicken and this salsa for an easy and flavorful lunch.

I didn't know what to call this so I called it Black Bean Salsa. This is a VERY good salsa and SO easy to make. It makes A LOT of it as well. So it's good for cookouts and dinners. My mom got this recipe from a friend and we made this together that night. It was mandatory that we got to the grocery store to get the ingredients for this. I absolutely loved it! I also find that it's very healthy and high in fiber. I enjoy my salsa with some WOW tortilla chips. . . or even on an egg omelette. My mom and I nearly ate half of it before we even chilled it. Or you can put it this way.. . we went through a whole bag of tortilla chips. lol. Enjoy! (I do not know how many servings this makes, all I know is that it makes a WHOLE lot of salsa. And the prep time is estimated)

Great recipe from Cooking Light! Very healthy, great with fish, chicken and on its own. Add avocados and/or onions for variety.

Easy to make and delicious! It is ready to use after it has cooled, but will improve over the next few weeks

I wanted a good canning recipe (and a safe one) for all the tomatillos I have in my garden, so after much searching I found this one. It is posted by Nancy Castleman on the Good Advice Press site under the name of Marc and Nancy's Salsa Verde, and I just moved it over here. The lemon and lime juices add the needed acidity for canning.

This is our family's favorite condiment to serve with turkey, roast chicken or pork. I like it with pancakes, too. I believe I found it in the paper or in a magazine, probably 20 or more years ago.
