Another do ahead, enjoy your family & guests recipe. Serve this with some good bacon fried crisp or sausages. Have it as part of your Christmas Brunch. Whenever I'm sure they will enjoy it.

    Recipe #15654

A wonderfully sweet pecan pie that is perfect. I like a small scoop of vanilla ice cream with mine! Enjoy.

    Recipe #20832

This is a favorite of my family's (especially my 16 year old--the only frosting she will ever make). It is in response to a request on the boards. If you are planning to use this on a chocolate cake, clear vanilla will produce a stark white frosting that contrasts beautifully with the chocolate. This is a light, fluffy frosting and doesn't over-power the flavor of any cake that you choose to top with it. My daughters also like to spread it on graham crackers for 'graham cracker sandwiches'.

    Recipe #55965

This is a rich, chocolaty cake that is simple to make and stores well staying moist. This has long been my favorite recipe and while growing up I always requested it for a birthday cake. My Mother always led me to believe that it was a very complicated and complex cake to make whenever I asked for it, I suppose to make me think it was something special. It wasn't until i moved out and asked for the recipe that I learned how simple it really was. Clever lady my Mother. :) Makes 9 X 16 cake or 2 -9X9 cakes

    Recipe #56379

This green bean casserole is a family tradition. My grandmother makes this every Thanksgiving. Absolutely the best! Simple and easy, but the flavor is so good!

    Recipe #47102

This sweet potato casserole tastes like it has a bit of orange in it (but it doesn't). My aunt made it at Thanksgiving and I rapidly 'borrowed' the recipe! She said she got it from foodnetwork.com.

From Food TV's "Good Eats". Cook's note: A city ham is basically any brined ham that is packed in a plastic bag, held in a refrigerated case and marked "ready to cook", "partially cooked" or "ready to serve". Better city hams are also labeled "ham in natural juices". Posted in response to a request.
