I was shopping in Wal-Mart, when an elderly lady came up to me and just started talking about this great dessert salad that she was planning to make. I went home and tried the recipe, and my husband and children fell in love. Now we make it at least 1 time a week. There are different variations of the salad, so I have given choices in the recipe based on your preferences. The can sizes are approximate.

This Thanksgiving my boyfriend's step mom's daughter-in-law, Kim, brought this sweet potato casserole for our feast. Not being a huge fan of sweet potatoes, I was reluctant to try it. Boy am I glad I did! It isn't as sweet as most sweet potato casseroles and doesn't have tons the marshmallow goop on it. I begged her for the recipe so that I could have it every holiday and decided to post it on *Zaar so that I don't lose it. She stated on the recipe card that she always doubles the recipe and that when it does, it fills a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
This is the piece of meat you want to make when you want your guests to ooooooh and aaaaaah when you serve it. They'll make even more obscene noises when they start eating. Prep time allows for the meat and sauce to cool.
This meat comes out so tender and the basil makes the carrots and potatoes so sweet and delicious. All of the flavors meld together so well and it smells fabulous while cooking. This is an absolute Sunday Dinner family favorite.
This cookie is a wonderful soft cookie that will keep you sneaking more after the kids go to bed. I think I have seen these cookies being called lady fingers also. Yummy any time of the year, but just remind me of Christmas!!!!
I got this out of a magazine many years ago (can't remember which one). I try different shepherd's pie recipes but always come back to this one. The prep time is merely guess work as is the number it feeds (depends on the appetite of those eating).
My favorite holiday recipe! I have started making it during the year because twice a year isn't enough for me! I even have my mother in law requesting it for family dinners!! The final product is impressive- just don't let them know how easy it really is! This is also really good the next day (if you have any leftovers). My dad puts a scoop of leftover corn souffle in his eggs! He swears by it but I'll just take his word for it!
