Thanks Paula Deen (FoodTV) for the best fried chicken I have ever made! It has a nice, savory flavor and a coating that has just the right amount of crispiness. It was a good thing I had an extra cut-up chicken in the refrigerator because my family was begging for it again the next day. Although it calls for what seems like a lot of hot pepper sauce, it isn't any spicier than Jack-In-the Box's Spicy Crispy Chicken--you can take it!! FYI I made this using 10 pounds of wings--enough of the hot sauce/egg mixture to cover, but you will need to double flour mixture if you want to do this much. I'm not saying it tastes like KFC--only that you won't be doing business with them anymore.
I got this recipe from my friend Kasey a long time ago (I have adjusted the spices to my taste) and it is very easy--even for those that just can't seem to get basmati rice to cook "just right". So long as you cover the baking dish tightly with foil, it will not fail! I brought this to a pot-luck at work one day and ever since this dish was always requested by everyone at all of our potlucks.***I am cutting the salt to around half since there are quite a few reviews saying it is too salty. I don't measure the spices when I cook so I think I guessed the amount wrong.***
*** the cinnamon amount should be 1/2 tsp to 3/4 tsp only, not 2 teaspoons. I have tried changing it twice now and get email confirmation that the changes have been approved but it still says 2 tsp of cinnamon.
This is so easy to make, but everybody loves it. I found it in a magazine a few months ago and have made it quite a few times since. They are nice eaten hot or cold, so ideal to take on a picnic. If I make them for a picnic I usually make them half the size. The coriander in this recipe refers to fresh coriander leaves/cilantro.
Stunningly easy but really impressive recipe! Simply marinade the chicken breasts in the sauce & pan fry them for an elegant but simple supper! Serve with rice, pasta or a medley of fresh seasonal vegetables with steamed new potatoes. This is one of my "fail safe" recipes - it is also brilliant on the Barbeque or oven baked!
Also great with roasted Cherry Tomatoes.
You can also use lean pork chops for this recipe.
I made this for Ready Set Cook 2006. This Easy, Sweet, Caribbean recipe consist of chicken strips coated with coconut and fried with a warm rum mango sauce with a little kick. Scotch Bonnet Pepper are very HOT! Be careful not to get in your eyes. Best to wear gloves when handling. Serve over rice for a main meal or as appetizers.
These are absolutely to die for!!! They are not your ordinary taquitos. They're so good, I don't even use guacamole with them, although some still prefer them that way. Remember to get all your veggies in long thin strips. Time includes marinating.
This is my first recipe - please be kind! My kids love it and when I take it to a BBQ everyone wants the recipe. It is a variation on one I found in epicurious a while ago. It is very easy and very yummy!!
This is our standard holiday dish that everyone requests for dinner. An old family favorite that's even BETTER leftover and/or cold. Prep time is less than stated if you use a food processor to chop chicken & vegetables.
OK, this is not a chicken you just dump into a crock pot with seasoning and expect to have a gourmet meal after 8 hours - this crock pot chicken is a labor of love and requires just a little bit of time. Believe me, you will be glad you took it.
This recipe comes from the restaurant "Brennan's" located in New Orleans. No one has to know how simple and quick it is. I posted this recipe exactly as it was in the book, however, if you like a little "heat" please feel free to add some cayenne pepper to taste.
Yummy Yummy Yummy - What more can I say. This is delicious, you wont regret going to the trouble of making it. The sauce is thick and creamy, the taste is hard to describe, it is unique and very good. You can just barely taste the Jack Daniels but it would not be the same without it.
