This is an easy quick meal popular in Germany. Veal is traditionally used, but pork or chicken can be used as well. Some regions include sliced mushrooms while others would never consider adding it. The dish is often served over noodles with a side of Dampfkartoffeln (boiled potatoes).
This is really flavorful and juicy roast chicken. Even my husband, who is growing tired of chicken, picks the bird clean when I make this one. From Fine Cooking, #22. Marinating time included in the prep time.
They are already spicy, adding more hot chili oil will increase it to as much heat as you like. Can be doubled or quadrupled (don't just double the hot oil though :) taste as you go). Prep time does not include marinating time. From Jackie Shen.
I came up with this recipe in a effort to create a chicken dish that uses Limoncello. The sauce is so good! The capers add a salty pop that is countered well with the sugary Limoncello. Limoncello does not have the acidity of fresh lemons, if you LOVE lemon flavor, add a Tablespoon of lemon juice as well. Bon Appetite.
The sweet-spicy marinade really intensifies the chicken's grilled flavors and elevates it to a new high for chicken! For a wonderfully deep maple flavor, use a dark amber syrup, if you can find it. Time does not include 30 minutes to 1 hour of marinating time.
I have never tried a dish at East Side Mario's that I did not enjoy. Found this one out surfing the net and tried it. It was a nice alternative to a traditional Chicken Parmesan, and the sauce would also taste lovely over grilled chicken. *If you would like to spice this up a bit, add the optional crushed red pepper. *(Spicey option added based on Sam#3's review July 2008)
This marinade is for rotisserie chicken, but you can also marinade chicken parts (even boneless skinless breasts!) and cook in oven or on grill. It’s deliciously lemony and garlicky. A bit of vinegar makes it even brighter-tasting. Great paired with a fruity Argentinian Malbec.
This delicious recipe is scaled down to 2 servings if you need more simply double the recipe and use a whole cut up chicken. Crème fraiche is very easy to make and there are a number of recipes on Zaar - remember you will need 12 hours if you are making it yourself. Recipe adapted from Martha Stewart.
I served this creation for dinner with our house guests and everyone raved over the recipe. It is one of those dishes where every bite led to another compliment. Moist, and flavorful - Slightly sweet and citrusy! The kids loved it as much as the adults. If you have a large family you may want to make two chickens, especially if you are planning to have leftovers! There is an extra contest ingredient in case you want to leave out the orange liqueur (but I wouldn't!). Serve with rice and veggies. This recipe was created for RSC #9.------
Here's another recipe that comes from the Kraftfoods.com website & is a simple recipe to make. The recipe there calls for Shake 'N Bake Extra Crispy Seasoned Coating Mix as well as Taco Bell Home Originals Salsa.
Great to have on-hand for recipes. Just Place as many chicken breasts as you can fit into your crock pot as long as the lid fits on properly. I use bone-in, skin-on but I'm sure boneless, skinless would work too.
When my father remarried he would sometimes complain to me about finding my mother's lemon chicken recipe. The real secret here being that I had LOST my mother's recipe box...a crime punishable by walking the plank in my family. Of course I didn't remember eating it or how it tasted since I was 6 when they divorced and she couldn't remember the ingredients. He described to me a sweet glazy sauce that covered the chicken which she served over rice. With the help of my step-mother we "recreated" this dish using Lipton soup and sauce mixes in the lemon flavor. I was at peace until Lipton discontinued this flavor and was again harassed to FIND THAT RECIPE your mother made!
Finally I was reaching up in the counter for a martini glass at my aunts house when a small box came crashing down on my head... my family recipes along with the suprisingly easy "Infamous Lemon Chicken".I had no idea these were the few ingredients that had been haunting me. Dad this one's for you.
Delicious roast chicken dish from Bon Appetit. The recipe doesn't call for garlic, but I add garlic to everything. I usually quarter the orange after I zest it and put it in the cavity for a little more citrus flavor. The sauce is subtle but good.
Spicy and slightly sweet grilled chicken. This will make your taste bugs WAKE UP and SING! Can even be OAMC- Thanks Tish! If freezing ahead: Put ingredients in a ziploc bag and place in freezer, flattened. To cook from frozen: Thaw in refrigerator. Cook as directed.
